According to my mother, my life is horrible because I choose to make it that way, and I like to wallow in self-pity. She and dad did everything right. She is not my mother.

My dad is also like that. He blames me even for the things that he told that I should do. My mon and dad never admit that they are wrong. They are not human beings and are horrible people. I'm just depressed because of my dad's stupidity. When I become financially independent I intend to never talk to them again!

Same here, I just don't know how much longer I can take it.

Gramirez, do you believe she is your mother? Because she's not if she acted like that. I decided when I was about 13 or 14 that my parents were not my family, and that I was going to find a new family. And I did. I found all of you.

I would disown her as soon as possible.

Not everything in your life is your fault.

Sometimes when I get so depressed I said to mom that I wished she aborted me.

I felt that way for the longest time, and than things got better for me. I hope that things get better for you, as well.

Ok, that was very wrong of your mother to say. Of course it's not your fault, and I don't think anyone enjoys self-pity or being miserable.

At the same time, perhaps what she was meaning to say was that if you want your life to get better, you have to work for it, and stop feeling sorry for yourself. (And I know this is far, far easier said than done.)

Again, that was a nasty thing to say and I can totally see why you are upset about it, but don't hate her for it. Sometimes people (especially NTs) say what they don't mean. This happens a lot when they are angry or exasperated.
