Just looking around and reading the forum, I can`t figure out what the heck "NT" means

Can anyone help?

*yeah dumb question but it's driving me nuts*

NT = neurotypical = person without aspergers :)

(AS or aspie is the abbreviation for someone with aspergers)

I would shrink that category so that it's people without disorders of any kind. Bipolar, Borderline etc.

I just joined yesterday for the first time

I DID try to set up an account but had the wrong email address so I had to try again

But I only found this site yesterday through wikipedia

I think if it's meaning sometimes varies from context. I think some use it as just people who don't have AS and some mean it as people who have no mental condition whatsoever. BTW, it's not a dumb question.

:D I'd think someone without any kind of mental condition would be dead.

It has been suggested several times that we should more correctly use the designation NA for Non Autistic, rather than NT, but it's tough getting Autistic folks to change a routine behavior. :wink:
