Some people are just so rude and incompent. Ugg! It's so annyoing and frustrating! Some people should not be allowed to enter the medical feild period. I had to have an ultrasound and was already insanley nervous because I never had one before. When I enter the room, there is this intensley annoying and agravating music playing. It was making me nervous and I could feel a panic attack coming due to it. I asked the technican if he would please turn it off. He cops an attitude with me, "Well what's wrong with it?" I explained it was making me nervous and he says, "I'll just turn it down." I could still hear it and had to use my "excuse". Eventualy he complied and turned it off. I suggested he do some research on autism/AS and he goes, "But I turned it off" I then repiled, "Yeah but you got all uppity about it." He denied having an attitude of course. I wonder if I should file a complaint. As the paitent and as an American citizen, I have the right to be treated with respect. I wasn't asking him to rearange the furniture, just to turn the damb music off. I should not have to put up with people's attitudes nor pay them to be a**holes.

I can see that you are upset, and certainly that tech should have been more considerate. However, it is important to put things into perspective so as not top upset ourselves. Part of the mind blindness of aspergers is being unable to appreciate that others don't feel the same things that we do. This tech couldn't comprehend the level of discomfort that you were feeling and hence didn't know what to do create an optimum environment.
I always keep in mind that when I try to impose my views, ideas, or conditions on others that they think I am just as unreasonable as I think they are. Thats why I try to communicate my needs to others, and listen to theirs.
I hope that you have a better experience next time!
Hugs.

Maybe so. But I am the one paying for it. Even if he did not comprehend the reason he still should have done so.

No argument there.
You have to pay for your ultrasound? Everytime I've had one its been paid for.

It's been payed for via insurance and I assume a portion of the tech's sallary comes from it. Still, he shouldn't be getting paid at all if this is how he acts.

The attitude about the music in a medical setting is ridiculous, btw, that is hardly an unreasonable request, and somewhat segue's into my own problem.

Anyone got any advice for dealing with a rude staff worker at my gf's doctor?

http://www.healthgrades.com/directory_s ... c_20100228

I find a range of reviews about her online, while the ratings naturally vary, though are generally good, and my girlfriend really likes the doctor, the receptionist is terrible, and this is pretty commonly a complaint listed about her online.

Is there any sort of legal recourse should asking Dr. Gordon to talk to her receptionist about it fail?

I'm not sure if the receptionist has a nursing license, or what, so I dunno if it would just be a case of mentioning the state board, or what.

Funnily, I found this thread after googling "rude medical staff", lol.
