Why do I always have to try to put my self in someone elses shoes? why do I always have to think "would this upset the person and if so why" yet when I am insulted right to my face its okay because I do not understand the minds of the norms?

I had this friend(till today it was I have a friend) That I really liked and thought liked to to talk to me. We talk about daily life and the books I am wirting. Video games and tech. Turns out some how we always talk about me and I never noticed till now(he always said his life was to dull to talk about) and it was really upsetting him. I tired more then once to ask about his life, hobbies and so on. He alaways answers liked its a sceret or passes it off like its to hard to answer! All be cause I am to hard to open up to. HE knows I have AS about I cant read people or interactions at all and yet he wont help me or let me get to know him! all he ays is "it is just easier not to answer with you"

WHY should I try to understand others if they wont even think about understanding me?! why should I even leave my house when I know I am not like the people I see? Why even TRY to talk to someone I think is cute when I KNOW they wont like the real me?

Even if you don't believe it, every try is worth it.

Someone (Who you like) will. They might not be overly concerned with social norms, but someone will want to know you and you with the supposed quirks that you have.
I know that most people are overly concerned with social norms..

That is just part of what it takes to be useful and meaningful in the lives of others.


It is actually not okay when other people do that ... and here is where things become quite complicated. Those so-called "normies" just mindlessly roll along (and/or even roll over us) without having to play by the same rules because their number is so much greater and they can just move along to the next person (where we cannot) whenever something does not go well.


The problem there is on his end. So, and especially now that you have already made your honest effort, just do as he is doing and move along and try someone else.


Sometimes that is far more of a cannot than a will not ... and that is just how things are. So, we have to keep trying for the very same reason any human being must try: That is just part of life.


That is just how things are for some of us aliens in semi-hostile territory.
