This morning, as I was heading home from a Bible study group, I was getting on I-45, and needed to get into the next lane to avoid being forced to exit onto U.S. 59. I finally had a clearing in the lane I needed to be in (it was in the middle of morning rush hour) but before I could get into the lane, the car in front of me in the lane I was in slammed on his brakes, then I had to slam on my brakes, then the car behind me rear-ended me.

Except for a few scratches and dings on my rear bumper, my car and I got through the ordeal A-ok.

I just wanted to let you know that I am ok after my accident this morning.

Cars were made for putting dents in. Aren't you glad you weren't on a bike?

The guy hit you, so it's not your fault. Still this song comes to mind, more for me than for you.

Ah that sucks. I feel sorry for the person behind you because I am sure in Texas anyone who rear ends from behind you is always at fault unless you back into them.

I've been in a lot of accidents myself. Usually they were my fault, until I started treating my ADHD. A few weren't. I was driving down a major boulevard here once and this woman with a 6 year old kid was behind me and she was trying to control him and drive at the same time. It didn't work. I felt bad because she had a crappy old car that was dead in the water after, and I was able to drive away.

I'm glad you're okay, too! Who else can we depend upon to so diligently welcome all the new members to WP? Hope the experience didn't shake you up too much.

I've driven that interchange a handful of times (if it's the I-45/US-59 interchange in Houston) and every time I nearly had a wreck... there are some scary drivers around there. Glad you made it out mostly unscathed.

It was on the Pierce Elevated, between I-10 and US-59.

No matter where you are, it seems like whenever you need to make a pressured lane change, that's when the car in front of you will slam on their brakes. It happens to me all the time in Florida and really conjures my road rage. One time, the person in front of me didn't even have a reason to be riding the brake, the car in front of them was 5 car lengths ahead. When I got along side them, they got an earful and eyeful of my displeasure with their driving skills.
