Bit of a small rant.

I post on forums, but no one ever responds to me. Even when I directly state something to them.

What am I invisible?

I'm tired of feeling like I am being ignored.

How can I be part of the conversation when no one is really invested in hearing what I say or write down?

Yeah, this really sucks. I've been thinking about this a bit recently. Here's a few things to think about:

Audience... are you addressing the correct people with what you are saying?
Relevance... is what you are saying relevant to the conversation at hand, or the interests of your audience?
Clarity... is what you are saying clear and understandable?
Interest... is what you are saying going to inspire your audience to respond?

I think it's very hit and miss really... you just have to keep experimenting to see what elicits a response and what doesn't. Monitoring response is paramount, so pay attention.

It's not entirely true that no one responds to you, because I remember very clearly replying to one of your threads yesterday. I think I have an unfortunate bias towards remembering the void times where no one replies more than the hits when I do get good responses.

Not here on WP.

Actually another forum.

It seems a lot of people don't respond to what I say on another forum and its just right off rubbing my edges.

I think it all comes down to what things are held in common at any given moment. Sometimes I post without even expecting any response, but then sometimes I get more response than I ever would have anticipated.

Sometimes I feel invisible too. On forums, FB or IRL. Sometimes it really bugs me and the other times I just don't care (or at least I try to).

I might have this problem as well. I think it's because in real world I feel awkward, inadequate and ignored too often so that makes me kinda too sensitive. Maybe... don't know :?
