From the age of 12 until i was 23 I was very close friends with this girl we did everything together she was heavily religious but normally didn't shove it on me at all. Until one day I was talking to her about how this jehovahs witness had come over and I said no thanks I am a Christadelphian" just to get rid of them. In their religion she always told me you aren't allowed to lie at all under any circumstances so she stopped being friends with me. I was and still am sad by how things ended. Yes in hindsight I could have simply told them I wasn't interested but thats hindsight and it was still and overreaction on her part. Sometimes when I think about it or if I drive by her place (she lives near where my mum lives) I feel sad and want to get back at her in some way by for example placing a fake ad on the net so far I have not though.

Wow ... one lie to a stranger (not her!) in 10 years would end friendship ... This is quite an extreme view. I am sure she slipped up a couple of times within 10 years, herself; she just doesn't remember it since no one held it over her head. Is she Jehovah Wittness herself or what religion is she?

Anyway, I am really sorry to hear the friendship has ended in this way. I really hope you will be able to be friends again. I don't think being pushy in any way is the answer; if it is religion that drives her, it will only make her think more about it, making things worse. Perhaps time will heal it and eventually she will realize herself and contact you? Unfortunately, this is the most one can hope for.

o.O Wowza. What a cold rejection. I'd want revenge to.

Not necessary: People like that ultimately "get even with themselves".

FYI she is Christadelphian and like i said perhaps part of her rejection was that i used her religion instead of saying i wasn't interested or other similar things that being said it was a massive over reaction and I still feel sad about it.
