Well it's not an actual town but a village within Indianapolis called Broad Ripple. It's a really nice place along the Monon Trail to walk around and there's lots of shops and such. But at the same time Broad Ripple has become somewhat of a cursed town for me to visit.

To give you some background, Broad Ripple is a village (and a cultural district) that mostly consists of Bohemians, hipsters, yuppies, and young adults fresh out of college. This was my sister's big hang out place since she attended Broad Ripple High School when she was here. (Why I didn't would require five page of complex explanation about how I got tossed around to various schools). Alot of people who live in this area remind me too much of the people I use to hang out with in college and have been trying to fit in with since high school and both experiences didn't go well for me. It became my own personal hell. Everytime I come here, I develop bad reminders and memories.

Just a couple of years ago, I had a run-in with my former best-friend from college who was practically responsible for my mental destruction and the wreckage of my post-college life. It's a story I've told on here several times about how she screwed me over and it mentally changed me to such a degree that I refused to make friends or get close to anyone ever again. Anyway I was just pulling into a parking lot when I saw her getting out of her car just an aisle away. I immediately recognized her and her car and had a panic attack because I never expected her to show up in Indianapolis, period. I found myself lying on my frontseat hyperventilating for the next hour. This resulted in a huge gap of not coming back to this area because I wasn't sure if she was living there or not and I didn't want to risk running into her again.

Recently I started coming back to the area to re-experience it. Some trips were good but others were horrible and overstimulating with too many people, some tried to talk to me and freaked me out. At least I don't even dare come here at night when all the bars open up.

Well today proved what a curse coming to Broad Ripple was. First I thought I would take a different road to get there. Big mistake. I was driving down this major road, a red car that I knew had to have been at least two or three cars behind me decided to go through the opposite lane (divided by a massive double yellow line) to speed up and cut around everybody. When it drove back into our lane to get infront me, the friction of the car's back tires caused lots of road particles to get thrown into my windshield. What I heard wasn't pretty but I didn't see any visible damage right away. Only later did I discovered several really bad chips to my windshield. The worst part about all of this was that I had a chance to get the guy's license plate number and I blew it. I was right behind him at the next stoplight but failed to see the extent of damage to my windshield in time and then process that I need to get this license plate number before he got away. In the course of all of this, since I took a different road to Broad Ripple and became thrown off by all the construction going on, I got lost and had to do numerous turn-arounds and illegal turns that freaked me out and nearly got into numerous accidents.

To top it off, I finally arrive in Broad Ripple to do my walk, just shortly into the walk do I encounter a guy that looks exactly like my ex boyfriend from college (the one who used to call me a whore and a ret*d). He smiled at me but said nothing but he wore glasses, but his build and his face looked pretty much the same. He didn't say anything so hopefully it wasn't him. Those who know me know how very recognizable I am due to my mixed race and my lack of varied wardrobe and hairstyle. I have a bad feeling it was him though and I felt he was following me a while just to taunt me. Needless to say I gave up my walk very quickly and headed home, still distraught over the jerkwad that chipped my windshield.

I do realize that my stress during all of this would've been decreased if I had ate something prior to all of these events happening, but I was rushed out of the house early. I felt much better once I came home and ate. Still I only drove to Broad Ripple just to walk around and everything that could possibly go wrong did. I looked it up and hopefully the chipping to my windshield should be fixable right? I'm still mad at myself for not getting the license plate number. Something tells me, however, that I won't be going back to Broad Ripple again for a VERY VERY VERY long time.

Oh and I'm looking out my window and it's still sunny despite numerous weather websites saying it was going to storm during this hour. Why can't weathermen in Indiana ever get it right?!
