Didn't know quite where to post this but hey what the hell this should work for now.

Alright, so I've had quite the "problem" for years and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or ideas that they could share with me in order to help me make sense of this strange phenomenon that keeps happening to me. Ok so I have this thing where people no matter what always seem to be intimidated by me! It's like they think I'm some special gem of the world when really I'm no different than anyone else here on this planet. It's frustrating as hell because so many people get defensive towards me when I try to help or offer any kind of help irl. It amazes me how often I find this to occur in my day and wonder if any other people get these same reactions. I've lost "friends" because of this as well as girlfriends and other significant others in the past. Maybe I just surround myself with insecure people? Idk it's just frustrating as all hell because some people tend to hold me on some pedestal when all I want is just to be treated like everyone else. Kind of ranty but eh it helps to get it out i guess.

What do you look like?

I get a very different response. People still avoid me, but anyone who acts intimidated by me in person must be off their rocker  .

Interesting....

So people think you're better than everyone else.

I haven't had too much of that, but I did have a point in my life where everyone was super-nice to me for the most part and thought I was super.

Maybe try making a few mistakes obvious and they'll realize that you're human. It came naturally for me to make mistakes and once I started reacting to them people saw me as a human being and not this perfect girl. That is all I can think of. Is that what you were talking about?

Hmm don't think I'm super amazing looking so I'd hope that wouldn't be the reason... guess I'll post a pic sometime...

Yup exactly what I was talking about and thank you. That might help a bit if I make a few mistakes just to "break the ice" in a way.

Yea, it would help with figuring out why and such.

Ok. :) You're welcome. I mean, you don't have to make a ton of mistakes, one or two should do. It's like when the smart kid in class gets a bad grade and suddenly more people want to talk to them. 8)

Alright pic is posted and yea I guess i'll have to not get too over zealous with making mistakes though it may be a bit of fun to take advantage of that opportunity.

I understand! If you don't mind me saying, you seem like the good kid prototype. Did you have good grades or play any sports? You are good looking (if you don't mind me saying) and you only need a combination of 2 or more of those elements to fall into the good kid role. Because although you have autism, people can still assume that you fit into those social stereotypes (at least form my perspective) with a few of the elements. Also, from that statement, you sound like a perfectionist, and perfectionists are assumed to thus be perfect.

Ah well I make above average grades in school I did play sports until I broke my hyoid bone  But I can see where the perfectionist stint would get me... Unfortunately that's not the first time I've heard it from someone. Hmm now how to be less of a perfectionist? Hmmm

Exactly. I know where you are coming from: I used to be pretty fast in cross-country and I had straight A's and then gave me a calling and everyone thought I was a perfectionist. That was until I didn't make varsity in junior year, and people realized I was human. That really stinks that you broke your bone. How'd it happen? Anyways, perfectionism will drive you nutzo if you don't give it up. Pick one or two things to be perfect at instead of everything. And just don't be afraid to make mistakes like I already said.

Well I was at a football practice my junior year of high school and a freak accident happens where the face mask of the helmet made contact with my throat :/. Broke it in 3 places around the esophagus. Was actually pretty cool looking! Hmm well perfect in a few things could be different but could also help a lot. It would take a lot of stress off me to relax in other areas of my life.

I only wished that I could play any kind of popular sport well. In truth, I suck at all sports. Sports, for some reason is a huge way into the NT social circles. In fact, those who play sports the best get the best offers. in their younger life.

But it's only if you are good at sports or play the right kind of sports. But I agree, I've seen that in life.
