I have no friends. I also live just outside Washington, DC. Recently, I've been thinking this city is the reason why I have no friends. It seems like everyone here, from the President to the administrative assistant to the maid from El Salvador, is thinking only of advancing his/her position.

What do you guys think? Is it hard to make friends in this city?

i've never been and don't know much about the place. but it's not fun feeling like you don't fit in. would it be possible to move somewhere else? i'm sure a whole city of people cam't be the same, maybe you look in the wrong places

There are aspie meet-up groups in DC. Have you ever checked any of them out?

You're right, but meeting them is hard. For one, this metro area is very vast, and difficult to get around (public transit goes mostly into downtown, and the traffic here is hell). For another, most people here are obsessed with work, to the point where it permeates their personal lives. They are also worried about protecting their own asses, and always on guard. That's why nothing ever gets done here.
