I'm sorry, I hope it wasn't me.

I think I've spilled a bit too much. Definitely more than I normally share with acquaintances.
I hope in the future I don't awfully regret what I've written/shared.....*sigh*

I recently tried to delete a bunch of my older posts, but their editing ability expired.

I have a hard time telling the difference between "I'm so mad I could spit, and let me just vent here" posts and "here's where it all stands, what do you think I should do?" posts. Even if it's clear it's the latter, I'm sometimes stymied for advice to give. I'm annoyed personally when people sympathize without offering constructive help, and I think I project that preference onto other people. I'm sorry for your troubles, I have no idea what to tell you. I'd be annoyed if I were you, but at my (your) husband and at the circumstances surrounding the busybody cable installer (that was you, right?) and your layabout family. I hope I'm remembering your details correctly. :oops:

You sound very frustrated and that makes me upset because it is a familiar kind of frustration... really, though, is there anything you needed advice on presently?

I hope I didn't have anything to do with it. I'm also frustrated with that feeling. I've tried making a thread about some social problems that I was having with someone in the summer. One response was "What's the clubhouse?" The other response was, "Maybe she was trying to be nice."

I think when you post in The Haven, you will get very few responses because people don't have anything to say that would be suited here. It happens to me too where I hardly get any responses to my posts here. I just figure that no one had anything to say that wouldn't fit here and I bet if I posted it elsewhere, I would get critical responses. This is the place to post where you want people to agree with you or don't want to hear how wrong you are and your thoughts or actions, etc. so of course you be getting less responses. This is an autism forum where lot of us don't tell people what they want to hear. It's either we say it or we don't. I know if I can't be honest, I refuse to say it and I say nothing at all. I will not lie.

I try not to give advice unless asked, and only then if I'm comfortable that I can do so. If you have any issues with Microsoft Office or quadratic equations, you're welcome to get in touch. If it's on how to find love or how to cook a perfect souffle, you'd get more joy from Google than from me!

Sometimes I post things I really want to discuss that are rather personal to my life and no one responds, in which case I just wait a couple days and post a different thread about it with different wording to see if that helps. But if I don't respond to a thread here its likely because I have no idea what to say or what advice to give...it may be similar for other people.

For what its worth though I'm sorry you feel that way I can see why its frustrating, and I certainly hope you continue posting if you so choose.

I do the same, and nobody responds. I then delete them. I like reading your posts OOM, and TBH I don't know how to reply to them or lots of others' posts.

I can't offer advice to anyone, and I've no idea how to "listen" in the way a woman or a man wants. I can't stand telling people things like, "Everything is going to be alright" when I don't know that, or telling them that they are in the right when they're not, and it's hard resisting advice on what they could've done instead.

One or two pieces of advice - if you want to make life interesting, then take risks. It makes it more challenging, but it's worth it. It also sounds like you needed to leave your husband years ago if you got fed up with him.

Unless the risk-taking consistently back-fires.

Divorce may be a little extreme. But the current state of things isn't fair, so something has to happen or you'll burn out.

So, I've pposted a few things here that were very personal and very important to me. No response. OK. It's like living in my own house. Unlike others, I am fine with this. However, I will now stop giving emotional support to others. I will also stop talking about my own feeings. Whatever.

What were you expecting from strangers on a social website, emotional support? Then you may want to read this:

To Whomsoever This May Concern,

From this point in time forward, I will not be held accountable for:

a) The emotional state of others, nor is any other person responsible for my emotional state;

b) Any debts incurred by anyone other than myself, whether those debts are financial, political, religious, or social in nature;

c) Any promises made without my written authorization by anyone other than myself, nor will I make promises for any other person without their express written permission;

d) The financial state of anyone other than myself and my legal dependants;

e) Any person or persons whose welfare depends upon the kindness of strangers;

f) Any comments, whether spoken or written, that are made by any person other than myself, other than those made by persons legally placed under my authority to act in specific circumstances;

g) Any actions, whether accidental or intended, that are made by any person other than myself, other than those made by persons legally placed under my authority to act in specific circumstances.

Deal With It.

F.

It's from my WP blog.

Whatever.
