I'm frustrated over the diagnosis, still, but less so now that I removed myself from a stressful situation. My parents never neglected me, but the illness itself is confusing: schizoaffective disorder. It was originally paranoid schizophrenia, but they changed it later. I found out from someone who knew a person working in a hospital, that one of their techniques was to "break the person down to break down the illness" and that seems like coercion to me or brainwashing, which was what I thought they were trying to do to me. I wonder if I have Autism Spectrum, which would make more sense--but dad told me that matters less than just functioning, so I talked to my psychiatrist and told me she wouldn't change the diagnosis.
SO I'm really frustrated because I feel like I need someone to be held accountable for the trauma and rape I experienced from staff in the hospital, which caused my Autism to progress into a "chronic Mental illness"
