I have a large load of homework to do today and I am trying to get into that zone of constant flow. I can just concentrate on the task at hand and get it done! You know? So I put on headphones and litsen to music while I am typing away. I look up after a while and realize that my roomate's mouth is moving.

Okay she had been talking to me, while i had headphones on, and was reading and typing doing homework. I take my ear bud off and go

Sorry I could not hear you, I was reading for this assignment plus I have music on.

She goes: NVM . . and rolls her eyes in that characteristically super obvious fashin (head moving back, eyes almost closing, sighing very loudly).

I go back to doing homework.

Look up a bit later (i do like to keep tabs on my environment)

She is reading a book we had agreed to read together for our ADF dedicant path.

I go you are reading it without me?

she goes yeah

so I let it go. go back to doing homework, but I am pissed and I dont understand her reaction at all!

Why the hell would she get mad that i didnt hear her, when I am doing homework!? I am BUSY when she is busy she gets mad if i interrupt her, she has no prob doing it to me, wtf?

My thoughts..
You probably should have said "No, what were you saying?" When she responded, instead of going back to what you were doing. But yeah, that's still lame to just go on reading it without you without hearing from you first.

She probably was more frustrated than mad that she did all that talking and you didn't even hear it. And maybe she had something else irritating her that day. Or maybe she's just a B----. *shrug*

Yea. People can be awfully ridiculous sometimes. I try to call them on it in the least abrasive way possible. Or the most abrasive way possible, if it's a close friend.

Mostly it's just fleeting weird moods or whatever, I think. Happens to anybody.

Oh yeah, that's good advice. A lot of the time people like to feign like they don't care, to see if you actually are interested. Gotta be persistent, makes people feel like they mean something to you. Even if it was inconsiderate and inane on their part... :P

I have done that before but its like "why are you aggravating me on top of being rude/annoying/etc?" So I play the indifferent act. Now if she dos not directly address me and tell me she IS upset and what IS upsetting her i go on with my day. It causes me less stress. But sometimes I still get annoyed by it. It felt good to vent.

She is a bit of a bish and has said so herself.

I just went back to what I was doing and came out to see what she was up to in the kitchen, after I caught up to the reading she had done. Got involved in what she was doing without bringing up the crappy mood and we ended up cooking dinner together, which was fun we made homemade noodles.

Ah. Can't please everyone I suppose. :P

Glad the situation turned around well.

Which has been actually hard for me to handle, not being able to be pleasing all the time, but if I was I would run around at the whim of everyone and never have time for my special interests!

College roommate? Yeah, that happens. You'll look back on it and be able to say "I can handle anyone, because I could handle living with her..."

More like live-in roommate. We have known each other for about . . 7 years? Sometimes I think we argue because we have been around each other so damn long.
