Hello folks, I am an Aspie, but here is my lament of confusion: I seem to be mystified by words like "mother" as well as "baby" or "shhh... it's okay, go to sleep." Even the sounds of the Baby Metroid in the Super Nintendo game Super Metroid catch my ears. Now I seem to get "imprinted" on girls in real life and in some specific media when they make me feel like a child hugging a teddy bear, I often imagine being a kitten on their laps, being shushed and petted to sleep. I use these thoughts to help me get to sleep, a glitch in my brain?

So there's nothing wrong with me? Then again, I have remained childlike in some areas since I grew.

Thank you, I guess I am still a small child at heart in a good way.

Sounds to me like you're just starved for affection. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Also, there are these girls (real and 1 very specific anime being) I love so much I want them to just gobble me up right up so I can be surrounded by them soothing me eternally and the mere thought of seeing or hearing one of them breathing very slowly makes me feel a sense of safety, normal?

Is this part of some small paranoia? Probably not that bad, just somehow funny. Take it with humour if you can.

Sounds like more or less normal that you actually can feel something like this (sort of missing somebody that cares). From that point pretty normal.
