my team is one of the top five teams in michigan for my age group, so im pretty good. I consider myself the best 10th grader at my school.
I was hoping to hear this - You may be chosen to practice these drills first, not because your coach hates you or something, quite the contrary, it sounds like he is getting one of his best players to demonstrate the drills.. Even if you have difficulty hearing him, you most likely pick it up quickly, at least after having seen it, and do it up towards the best of everyone.
You may just be taking things in wrongly. I think he is having you show these drills because you are a great player! Think positively about it, I doubt the last thing he'd want to do is harass one of his stars
Similarily, I played hockey. One time, we went to overtime. During this overtime, the game was setup that each team would lose 1 player on the ice every minute. I was one of the 2 starting defencemen. After 1 minute went by, they took my defence partner off (I didnt realize how powerful a statement that made about me). I was either the best defenceman on the team (at least) or the 4th best player on the team (at most). I quit hockey and it took years to hear I was great. Needless to say, I remember exactly what happened (story). I was wearing socks that had 'grip' on the bottom of them (I had no other socks clean at the time). My feet were KILLING me because of it.. I should have told the coach of my problem.. During the last play of the hockey game, their star player ended up coming 1 on 1 with me.. well, you guessed, I feel down because of my feet being numb and they scored on our weak goalie..
Look for signs of your talents - your coach using you as his example may only further back your statement about being the best! Run with it and take it as a positive sign. I know attention sucks so try focusing on yourself and your skills over your audience. Don't quit, probably the worst mistake i made - I never had anyone tell me i was good
