Changing interests is a normal thing. Whats even better is that they come back after a while and you get to see them from a whole new different perspective.

Trying to hold on to something that you know is slipping away only frustrates you more and increases your anxiety. Accept it, let it go for a little while. It will come back!
I found Dantac's comments true as well.
But I think I know what you are talking about Pixie. Once in a while I have had a period of bouncing thru several interests rapidly. For some reason things were not holding my interest like they should and I was continually breaking away from the dullness to try something new. I remember trying old standbys, but nothing seemed to work. During those times I wasn't getting much relaxation and like you describe just more turbulance (= anxiety, etc).
The conclusion I came up with for these times was that it was time to try something very different and new. I think even Aspies, etc need real changes of scenery and pace. So maybe it was my mind telling me it was time for something trully new.
