Has anyone ever been so angry, so upset/mad, that you feel like you can do anything? I have had several feelings like this, tonight being one of them. At the moment, I feel like I could run for miles, yet don't know if that's what would happen. Thanks much.

I've felt like that before. The catch to doing that is it will eventually cause you to self-destruct. Have you ever been screened for bipolar disorder?

Not that I know of; I was tested for and was confirmed with a diagnosis of AS, that was several years ago however. I am correct in saying one does not "get" the diagnosis of BD? As in one is born with it.

You do actually get stronger when you get angry because your body is not running at full power most of the time. I might be remembering this wrong but I think your muscles only work at 1/3 strength most of the time because full strength will do things like rip your tendons. When you are afraid or very angry the long-term health of your body is less important than the immediate situation and your body turns on. There are records of ordinary people beating the world bench record and things like that when their life is in danger or someone they love is in danger.

I've not had very many of these experiences, but the one I remember most was being on a hiking trip with dumbasses who kept walking in the wrong direction because they did not feel like walking back up the mountain we had just come down. It made me very angry that they would put all our lives in danger by going away from our only known sources of food, water, and shelter just because they were too lazy to walk up a hill, so I left them and went back up the mountain myself. When I first started I ripped chunks of wood out of the nearby trees just out of anger with my bare hands (this is not something I'm normally able to do), leaving finger-shaped indentations in them, and I went right up the mountain faster than we had come down it.

While I realize that this is in no way acceptable, if you will, but is this the same thing/notion? I have heard people talk about it, but I never knew

Yeah I get that at times, it kinda freaks me out to be honest...but sometimes I consider just giving in and seeing what happens but somehow thus far I am able to hold myself back more or less, but that is getting more difficult. I think in my case its the PTSD since fight of flight which PTSD will cause when triggered or even for no reason pretty much destroys my impulse control.

It is a genetic condition that may be influenced by environmental factors, but it set in later in life- usually the late teens to early twenties though ocassionaly it sets in much earlier for some people. Personally I was not diagnosed bipolar until I was 23, but that's when the symptoms got bad enough to seek help.
