The one thing I want in the world more then anything is a laptop of my own. The thing is I doubt I'll ever get one considering how much they are.

I hate using the family computer

I could practice typing more and actually get some hope of becoming an writer. Can't type anything on this computer without my stupid family getting into it and making fun of me!

Sad Sad Sad :(

How I want a laptop of my own.....

I'm in a very similar situation you're in,but i want a gaming PC instead of a laptop.

How does your family make fun of you when you're on the computer???

CTCD, why don't you set up a separate account for yourself with a password. It will stop anyone from reading your stuff. I am saving really hard at the moment to get a laptop, have you thought about getting a second hand one? if it's only for typing it may be worth it.

I like to write fan fiction and since I'm an angsty teenager it tends to be dark love stories or just depressing stuff and even the normal stuff I write they find it in my files or on the internet and make fun of me.

It's mostly the cartoon thing. My parents think I'm too old for cartoons much less writing depressing things about them.

I want a laptop so I can surf the internet in privicy and write and it would be nice to own my very own computer for a change.

Edit: I do have a password account but my parents won't let me have it unless I give them the password (Parent thing) and they stay logged in on my account so anyone can get around on it.

Is a POS but an affordable one. Work for what you are wanting to do.

CTCD, only requires the computer for writing and Internet access. Also has little or know money at present and maybe this is the best option for the moment. It would not be my first choice either, but if you can afford to go with Pentium M or Turion 64, Unknown is right they are slightly better.

Would it be worth it to get a used laptop from, say, a pawn shop or something, so I can take it on trips with me? So I can write stuff while I'm away, play games, that sort of thing? Or is it better that I when I take off to the mountains for a week, I spend an entire week without touching a computer?

ZOMG LINUX!! !! !

I suggest eBay. Also check around various store websites like Target. You'd be surprised what kind of deals you can get if you know what you're looking for.

Did not know you were only sixteen, well hope you get the job at pizza hut soon! Did you set up a separate account? what system do you have running? I do hope you can sort something out, they are intruding on your privacy.
