...NO. I wouldn't be that sick to speak about this kind of stuff just to get a reaction; OliveOilMom would never let me hear the end of it, lol.

But guess what? I have found a way to combat those thoughts when I'm dealing with that staircase.

Whenever I feel the impulse to look over the edge to far below...before the evil thoughts can enter my head, I put on my best serious face and shout "RICHARD!!"

Bonus points to anyone who can get the reference.

But yes, I'm feeling muuuch better now. ^_^

I have OCD, Tourettes, and some problems with intrusive thoughts. I think they're all linked together. I just try to meditate and clear my mind. Stimming also helps me to redirect my thoughts. It's gotten a lot better over the last few years.

Sometimes I get pretty far planning violence. These two thoughts come to my rescue:

1. What will I do next?

2. What if I'm wrong?

You are neither, my dear. Intrusive thoughts are pretty common -though unpleasant- and not nessisarily symptomatic of anything, though if they are frequent or bother you that much, it can be related to OCD, as others have mentioned. I've seen a mother with a toddler before and caught myself wondering how she would react if it got hit by a train. It happens. It doesn't mean you actually want to act on those thoughts.

Not autistic at all, but brainweird in a lot of different ways and, besides, I like it here.

I know...and just the simple fact that I feel sick after having these thoughts means that I'm healthy-minded.

(efuel) SUBMIT! I would rather die!
