EquestriatoLA here. I need to talk about some important things to address. Here goes.....

1) My poor relationship with my parents. My parents are the most prissy, Mormon-like people you will ever meet. Because I am more looser, this has resulted in many clashed with them, like the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. My mom viciously beat my face with a bat two months ago (but I didn't call the police for fear of reprisal) and now I want a lifetime restraining order against them.

2) At 26, I have gone on only one date, had one kiss and I am still single. 95% of you on these forums are married/in a relationship, so that puts me in the 5%. I cannot initiate a relationship, mostly because I don't know how, and when I do, I get greeted with a fast, swift "f**k OFF!" However, there is one girl I first met in grade school that I've recently reconnected with, but I am too shy to ask her out. This is one reason I made a vow a few days ago that I will stay single, turning down any date requests that any girl asks. Lastly.....

3) Homer Simpson Syndrome. Yes, it actually exists. No, don't tell me how he is well liked despite his faults - he has actually gotten in trouble a few times for his actions (case in point- The Simpsons Movie)- I tend to fumble things up a LOT like he does, and I get disproportionately punished for them. And while many think that I am smarter than him, personally, I somewhat disagree. I tend to have moments where I am him.

I want SERIOUS comments here. No snarky stuff..... as I am at the end of my rope and I just want to give up.

Peace be with you.

E2LA out.

I wouldn't over exaggerate on numbers on this site. I don't think the percentage thing should mean a thing. Now I don't normally converse with you in the forum, but I have never seen anything to make me think badly of you either. In fact, I haven't seen anything that makes others think badly of you either.

From the sounds of things, it seems you are very close to seeing the truth for what it is. A lot of people on this forum do have opinions, and some will state facts. It doesn't have to mean anything to you, but it will mean something to them. You will find something that is meaningful to you, and you will question whether that meaningful thing will make you happy or not.

However, I will say if you are feeling down, and I know you might be resistant to this suggestion, but I do believe that spirituality can bring you up again. Your spirit has never left you and has always been inside of you. You may need to find the right way to activate it and rediscover yourself for who you really are and not what you or others think you are. This will be a journey that you have to be patient with, but you will find your way. It took me about a year to get to where I am from where I first started to discover my spirit. I have no idea where I will be in 5 months from now, or even 5 years from now. But I do know that I need to have faith in that spirit.

I was disgusted to read about the attacks made on you.

I wish you happiness, in whatever way you experience it.

Maybe we should hang out if that'll help.

Hello.

I'm sorry you feel this way.
I might not be the best person to give advise, since I'm a few years younger and less experienced than you,
but if I were you I'd forget everything else and get the hell out of the environment you're currently in,
like Mike1 suggested (well, excepts for the stealing-your-mom's-jewelry part).
Running away won't exactly solve all your problems, and it will cause some more on top of that,
but in the very least it will free you from the pressure and violence your parents put on you.
I hope you have the possibilty to do that moneywise.
There might be other things that hold you, but if life's treating you so badly that you'd consider suicide! Something HAS to change, drastically, and a change of location is the best I can think of.
Just a vacation, or at least some perspective of moving away at some point in the future, would probably do a lot of good already.

I don't have the impression that 95% of WP members are in a relationship at all; and even if they were, many are having a hard time
trying to keep it up. That doesn't sound like a good thing, but what I mean is that you're not doing so bad in comparison!
As for your girl; how could not asking her out but turning down date requests from others have a good outcome for you? You might be hurt, but you should find out if she feels something for you, now. It only gets harder with time, I know that much, and you need to have some hope! And you should give other girls a chance; we all think we know what kind of person we need by our side, while that's often not true at all, and different people might do you good and surprise you. I wish you all the luck in the world.

I wish I knew what to say - if there's anything it all I can do to help you, please let me know!
There's not much I have to offer except for questionable dating advise, and comfort, but still.

Hope you're ok!

- Lisa

My romantic life is a disaster, but I'll be damned if I kill myself just because everything sucks.
Think about something you like, and about how you want more. The world won't stop sucking just because you throw in the towel.
Also, don't rob your own house, or anyone else's.

When I went to Los Angeles a few months ago, I was interested in this woman named Bree, but she couldn't meet me because she had other friends that were leaving the area..... we never got to meet, and she now has a guy of her own

I've also changed my sig to reflect my current relationship status.

I end this post with Fergosh and Josh Duhamel, the perfect couple:

Stay away from these people. Are you living with your parents? Try saving up money they don't know about and when you've got enough get an apartment of your own.

You've got that stat backwards I'm sure. I'd say 10% are in a successful relationship.

Sorry you are having such a crappy time. Honestly though, you're Mom sounds dangerous.

It might be good to have a shelter where you can go if she gets violent like that again. Give her time to calm down before you deal with her.

It is this paranoia within me that I want to carry a pistol and grenades with me.

I also forgot to mention my parents would constantly punch me in the face (which was often) if I did something wrong, and I have beaten several times with an aluminum baseball bat, one of which left my right jaw broken 15 years ago.
