my parents decided they couldnt support me anymore nor pay my college tuition last year and so ive been working/surviving for the past year. I have just recently lost my seasonal summer job at McMenamins that I used to pay rent and as a result I could not pay my rent this month. I am working at this homeless shelter as a live-in-aide... in exchange I have my own room and but it ties me to the facility, making it impossible to save up for a place to stay since i have to work there. So for now I am basically working all day for a place to sleep and no way to save any money. I am stuck!

If anyone in Eugene or nearby areas like Portland, Seattle or even San Fransisco can let me stay with them for a while i would be forever grateful. I would gladly do your housework such as dishes, cleaning and weeding etc....and I get $200 in food stamps every month so I can feed myself/ buy your groceries. I also can bring a 32 inch HDTv, xbox 360 and netflicks to you if for the duration of however long I am staying as well.

I am very tidy, polite and hygenic so I don;t think i would be a nuisance to anybody.

if you can help me out I would appreciate it greatly. I am stuck in the homeless shelter!! !!

Awwww poor Mike. That's really awful. It makes me so sad for you. I hope someone is kind enough to help you and give you a home and a job. ((((hugs)))))

If you lived near me, you could come and stay here, but, sadly, that is of no use, because I am in a whole other continent.

I hope someone helps you out soon. There are plenty of kind people in the world, to make up for the nasty ones.

ah, that person doesnt like me because i voiced my opinion on Michael Vick in another topic. that poster doesnt beleive that people can change and just realy hates Michael vick and people like me who have differing opinions.

and no...that ex gf your talking about...that ended recently so she is not an option. im thinking of being a drifter with this girl I met at the shelter...

Um, dan...this is the haven. Not the place to attack people, remember? I'm not fond of Michael Vick either, and I think animal abuse sucks, but this isn't the place to attack.

Your family abandoned you? They don't even have money for a plane ticket back to Hawaii (808 phone number) but still pay for your cell? Wow. This reminds me of the Great Depression, when millions of teens were abandoned by their families. My own grandfather was abandoned by his family, and lived in the Sierras (in CA) for a couple years. Have you tried living in the mountains, off the land? That's what I'd do.

Whilst I appreciate Hyperlexian and Pezar were trying to help, the OP was clearly not making a thread asking for suggestions of what people think he ought to do. He was making a thread asking if anyone could take him in.

Please remember that before commenting. Being homeless is a very big issue and it goes without saying that the OP has explored all other avenues available to him. If he's currently living in a shelter, it's because he has nowhere else to go.

I'm actually going to go to lane community in a couple weeks, I could talk more about it.

I feel your pain Michael. I work as an assistant superintendant in a residential building. I get a free apartment while I work here and stay on call 24/7. I am not allowed to leave the building or the immediate area. I know that the minute I get fired I will be homeless and there's no way in heck I can ever afford renting my own apartment.. I feel like a slave. I spent about 2 years in a college that did not offer an associates degree so I basically left with nothing. I am NOT looking forward to the rest of my life.... probably shelters and sleeping outside

First off, sorry but I can't help the OP. I live on the east coast of Canada. Otherwise I'd like to think I would do what I can to help. But for the guy I'm quoting, have you considered jobs that you can do from home? Do you have a skill like typing or something? You can work from home, save money while you're on call, find a new job and apartment once you can afford it, and then move out? I know that's a lot of, and it'll take a lot of work. But don't you think pursuing something like that would be better than a future of homelessness?
