During the summer, I am walking everywhere. It is warm outside. There are many mountain trails that I have access to. The Vitamin D in my brain is really kicking in. And it is easier for me to keep a healthy diet.

Now it is winter. It's damn cold outside. I want to stay inside of my heated apartment for the most part. And there is a Popeye's just a block away from where I live. Along with a Taco Bell. And a Taco Time. And a McDonald's. And a Wendy's. And a Jack in the Box. And a pho joint. And I know how to order pizza deliveries on the Internet. Not to mention a craft beer shop that is a five minute walk away, as well. And a grocery store with an attractive ice cream isle.

That is not an exaggeration. I have become a fast food junkie this winter.

I have put on fifteen pounds so far this winter. Seriously. I have been turning to comfort food for comfort. It works in the short term, but my body has reached the point of outright obesity in the process.

Maybe it is time I sought out Overeaters Anonymous meetings.

This is how I get in the winter too. But this year It's been a brutal winter with the extreme cold and record snowfall where I am and people have been stuck in their homes for days on end, schools were also closed for several days because of -40 degree temps. It's really starting to eat at me. I usually am a homebody but I do need to feel fresh air once in a while. I've been noticing that my SAD is worse than ever right now. And guess what? It's snowing again right now... Ugh! I want to move to a warmer place.

I like eating oranges and nuts because they require work to eat and keep your hands busy. Maybe you should take up a hobby that keeps your hands busy. Or chew gum. Or something. My main problem is I don't like cooking for one. Why should I dirty up pots and pans to cook one meal for one person, it's not so much the cooking as the clean up after.
