I personally don't care what poison you put in your body. But when I have to be around it, then I have a problem. I think two if my flat mates are smoking in the flat, which is actually not allowed. I've told them again and again, but recently they don't seem to care about other people's health and saftey (as well as having a place to live). Even worse, I know at least one of them is smoking weed in the house.

I know cannibis isn't a hard drug, but ffs there are several people anti depressants here!

I left a note asking for them to stop and one of the f*****s just took down the note. I left another note saying that everyone needs to see the note and explained my stance again. Then somebody sprayed an air freshener. Like, wow, because that will totally stop me from breathing in your smoke.

f*****s.

It's not illegal to use weed in this country, but they could get kicked out of the uni if they are doing this in the campus halls of residence. And it puts everyone else in risk.

And the audacity for one of the guys to b***h that they were feeling off cuz they did too much weed or snorted too much cocaine (yes, cocaine) when I have those exact symptoms from an illness I can't control!

So I'm putting my foot down. I am NOT tolerating this!

It's kind of interesting. Here, in the US, there is a push for states to legalize marijuana. Colorado and Washington have already signed on. It's just a matter of time before Oregon, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maine sign on. Yes, it seems inevitable that most of the northern states will make marijuana illegal in a few years. Probably only a matter of time before the rest of the world does the same.

If you are in a university hall of residence then you will each have your own contract with the university, things could be more complex if it is a smaller private landlord. Check to see if your contracts are linked in some way.

The difficult thing is how do you extract yourself from the problem, if it is a hall of residence you could go to the warden and complain. I am not sure if the people who you complain against would be able to work out who complained. I would suggest that you ask the warden to keep the fact that you reported that drug misuse was occuring in the flat out of the public domain, suggest that he records that a cleaner or repairperson noticed signs of drug use.

In the UK the university will be keen to act as it is a crime to allow your building to be used for the consumption of illegal drugs.

Before you do that I would suggest you go and talk to your tutor at the university or go and seek advice at the student help centre. I think it is unreasonable that you should be forced to share a flat with drug users who are smoking / snorting to get high.

Whatever you do you need to stay clean, becuase if the university think that drug use is occuring in the flat and investigate then someone in the flat might out of spite say that you were doing drugs also. If you are clean then you will be able to pass the urine test with flying colours.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

Agreed.

I don't think the university will do anything about it, but I could be wrong,

I personally feel you are not dealing with the real issue. Plain and simple, you do not have much in common with your roommates. If they want to live that lifestyle, fine; it doesn't mean you have to.

If you don't like smoking because it can be inconsiderate to impose a person's burning plant in this case a spliff. Perhaps that they should try eating spacecake instead of smoking. Nice way which does not inconvenience non smokers and it does not leave yellow stains on the ceiling like smoking can. Eating spacecake means that only the person who has cannabis takes it and no one else unlike smoking in which everyone has to inhale it when you visit or live with someone and they have a spliff on the go.
