Can't go on with this repeating pattern
Two years ago I had a bit of a mental breakdown. It was honestly as if my skull had cracked and everything was forcing its way into my old, happy world. With this breakdown came bad depression and extreme anxiety. My anxiety however hasn't focused around my life in general but almost totally focuses on my special interests. I become so possessive over the things that become an interest and the slightest drop in my adoration of that topic freaks me out and sends me into a deeper level of depression. Ever since this happened my interests have never lasted more than seven months when I'm used to them lasting a year or more, I think this happens because if the constant anxiety but I'm clueless as of how to help myself. I have very few hobbies that I don't totally relate to my special interests and I rely on a dependable love for my particular interest to be able to impersonate my favourite character and cope with difficult situations.
My biggest issue is freedom. I feel so tightly stuck to my interests because of the anxiety and I can't be spontaneous like I used to. I seriously miss that part of the person ive always been and I need a way to work around the issue so I can be care free on e more. I just don't know how, my psychologist who is specialised in autism has never came across anything like this responseso I feel my only way to get help is through us, the aspies, to find a way through

I had a breakdown a couple of years ago, shortly before my 30th birthday. Prior to this I wouldn't accept that I had any undiagnosed mental illnesses or a neurological disorder like Asperger's.
Depression and anxiety are awful mate, most of the time it's not knowing what to do about it but actually doing it. I can't presume to know how to fix your problems, I'm still learning to fix mine, but I encourage you to seek help. In my case speaking to a doctor has helped. I don't like the fact that I need antidepressants to operate at a level where I'm not constantly crying or raging, but they've certainly reduced many of the symptoms.
All you can do is try to look after yourself (diet and sleep pattern can have a massive effect on mood) and not give up. You're not alone either. I suspect I'm not the only one here (this site / planet) who has had similar problems.
