The past year, that being 2013, was a terrible year. I'm still in the recovery phase but some days I fall back into the deep depression. I had to quit mmy job last year as it was causing such high levels of anxiety I could no longer cope. I spent most of the year battling with somatic symptoms that made me truly believe my whole body had gone insane.

Then there are the people. Can never seem to get that part quite right. They want you to talk and when you do they start to avoid you. Or do they? Sometimes I don't know if it is my imagination or if that's really what is happening. How does one figure this out with certainty? Maybe my own thoughts of this cause me to act in ways that create this situation. I reall don't know but it seems to happen to me a lot. Just when you think you've got something good going with someone they start to distance themselves.

I''m tired, i'm rambling. Sorry about that.

Sometimes people distance themselves because you make them feel uncomfortable.
Perhaps focus on the things in your life that you appreciate (including the person distancing themselves) and you'll find the spark you need to dig yourself out of this rut in your life.

Never thought of that but it makes sense. Really do wish I could find out what it is i'm doing that makes them uncomfortable so i can stop doing it. Would be great if someone someday would tell me.

Yes, not everything in life is bad and I have improved quite a bit the last two months. Just having one of those down moments right now. Thank you for your reply.

Hi,

I have these up and down phases. When you are down, it is very difficult to be lucid and to step back.
Unfortunately, before I am able to do anything I have to isolate myself, in a dark room for a while. Then, I start to think. I need this to take stock of the situation. It works for me, even if when it happens it is long and very difficult to overcome.

I don't have any hope anymore. I just try to be realistic and to live with the facts cause I learned that hopes don't help my mood and make my situation worse.

So, my advice: be patient and indulgent with yourself.

Thanks for sharing this interesting topic!
