The amount of hatred that spews from this place is poisonous. And the people here outright refuse to listen to or even acknowledge the most thought-out responses to them to help them understand where the sexism all is. They just override it with more false beliefs rather than evidence, completely disregarding all the evidence presented and *explained* to them.

What makes it worse? Some of the women here go along with the men, trying to make out there isn't really a problem and that people should just deal with it. Oh my bloody Lord. I realise black-and-white thinking is bad in people with AS, but come on.

People with AS - little scientists?! ! How on Earth would you work that out from reading L&D? It looks about as scientific as the fifteenth century.

If you're talking about the L&D forum, I don't even go there, I am simply not interested in 17 year olds whining about how they can't get a date. As for the rest of the forum, some people are just filled with rage, and I understand because I was the same way once. As I've gotten older I've found that my anger at civilization has tempered itself. Considering that most posters here are in their teens and 20s, since they were little kids when AS first became a diagnosis, I'm not surprised that they're angry. Once they realize that the world doesn't care if they're angry because the people responsible for it are very far removed from the little guy, they may get tired of all that unproductive rage.

I know how far gone I am, though I try not to whine about it on WrongPlanet anymore. I recognize how bitter I am, so is there hope for me? I can recognize how my feelings are all wound up in one person, and how I can be upset with events, and how I will have other chances. I am just upset at someone for being overly judgmental. It burns me to my core in my worst moments, and I turn into a monster. But I always hope I can do better. I just unleashed it all towards her in a manner which was very unpleasant, so I have to await my fate now. I'm sorry.

People in L&D seem to just believe everyone is against them. That simple

Well it's not just the kiddies... lots of aspies in their 20's, 30, and beyond struggle to find dates, this difficulty often comes with the territory of being an aspie, and the bitterness that follows is something that I tend to empathize with, because I completely understand it... Yes, L&D is filled with a lot of awful remarks, but people should understand that high-stress situations over time often leads to that sort of nastiness, of course I'm not excusing it, but it's just a reaction to the frequent and chronic suffering of constantly being alone.

But the Love and Dating forum It's probably not the place you want to be when you want to think happy thoughts... age tends to make people bitter, and most people would go a little crazy after an extended time of failing to find another half.

It seems to me that people collect these impressions about 'reality' or what they think is reality then they just turtle up and think that applies to everything.

This happens with or without aspergers, I don't know if its worse for us but I think the statement "those with aspergers have difficulty with feelings towards people and expressing them" sounds accurate.

My experience has lead me to believe that things are far, far less complex than people make them out to be. Straightforwardness will get you a long way, and the rest... well, thats what the aspergers is for.

By and large, WrongPlanet is a supportive site.

Most of the bitterness is mainly frustraition and as a result they say bitter things and generalize and take it out on the wrong people.

Autistic=/=Lawnmower Man

For the most part, autism just makes people weird and broken. As the members of this website age, they get more and more broken due to total social isolation/failure to get a decent job/disappointing their family. And for a lot of us, it ain't going to get any better.
