I understand the feeling that you are talking about. I am not feeling it right now but have felt it plenty of times before.

Life is rarely as cut & dry as people might express it as online. Staring at a computer makes it hard for most people to remember that they're bantering about actual human beings, and everyone realizes on their own terms and at their own pace that the interweb needn't determine the course of their biological life. On the contrary, WP has convinced me anecdotally on more than one occasion to "back burner" my social life whilst everyone sorts out their own troubles. AS or NT, everything's easier to follow acting on instinct as opposed to advice from one's laptop.

No, context is too important for me. I'm not interested in wasting my time with just any woman... I'm only interested in investing my limited time with my ideal partner. When some random text speaks about such matters, with a profile that's listed gender is female, I simply know nothing about the person to feel any form of attraction or desire for the author of such text's desire to be focused on myself.

I can see couples being romantic in public and just think that it's sweet... I find romance too demanding to participate in unless my heart is all in, and quite frankly, I have no heart for the women in such spectacles because I have no knowledge of them, and if I had that knowledge, I know it's far more likely that I wouldn't be attracted to said women in that way as good compatibility to me is quite rare... So my feelings are actually more congratulatory toward couples for finding such sweetness in each other, instead of desiring what would be tasteless if the woman of a random couple and I were together.

If a specific woman I am attracted to wrote such posts, it would certainly stir me uncomfortable... but I don't know the feelings of jealousy, it'd just feel like severe disappointment to me. I don't want what's unnatural. I don't want love that isn't mine, so I can't fathom the wish to be the other guy... nor for her desire to be re-directed toward me instead. I am me, a sum of all of my qualities... if someone is not attracted to me, I can't rationally wish them to be and expect that that relationship would work out long if given a chance anyway.

Precisely. I trust myself only with the women who understand and respect my reasons for being shy. Not gonna lie, my life's been tough and as a result I'm 110% loyal to my friends who know why. It's not that I don't like anyone else, I just believe love is best shared with people who make an effort to understand one anothers' psyches. Sometimes this means being alone, but I can't say I really mind; someone needs to respect that sometimes people need unconditional love and respect for their thoughts. Physical attraction matters, yes, but what matters for me is finding ways to quiet my mind and anyone else's. When things don't go my way socially, I acknowledge that everyone needs time to reach their own understanding of this intensity, I work or study for a while and give people second chances. They deserve as much, the world isn't just a difficult place for aspies after all.

Not to sound flippant or dismissive (that is definitely not my intent), but it is entirely possible that plenty of ladies out there have done precisely this over you.

highly doubtful. i tend to notice somewhat. I noticed the girl at work, but turned out she is just the overly nice and touching type. i mistook it for romantic interests/flirting

i'm aware of how urgly I am thanks to those who pointed it out to me. now if it was just a woman who crushed on me but never spoke to me, or came near me, I would never know, but as for the ones who flirt/increase contact with me to show interest I would know. I have very seldom contact in person with women. which is why I mistook the one lady I suppose. she did meet a lot of what people here and on line say flirting is.

nice to see you out of gun posts where we tend to fall a bit out of agreement.

I actually end up in way more threads about other things, but end up posting way more in the gun threads, as I tend to respond to everyone that responds to me. It does end poorly for me, usually, as I tend to only respond to things I disagree with or feel are more complicated, which seems to often give the wrong impression entirely.

It is a little strange that I end up in such heated debates on the subject. On the hunting forums the biggest debates I've seen tend to be about whether black powder season (or muzzle loader or single shot or whatever state you are in calls it) shows off how great a hunter you are or if waiting to be able to use something with technology from sometime in the last 200 years just makes more sense. Although since the whole Chipotle/long gun incident in Texas and some recent NRA support for some large companies who decimate wilderness areas things are starting to heat up a little.
