failed out of college because of too much anxiety
I failed out of college because of too much anxiety so I mist to many days, it was bad I have having these horrible Nightmares about being kidnapped and killed in brutal ways, watching my family died in a car crash, being kidnapped by someone two time my size"im big" and slowly cutting my fingers off, being chased thou the woods and brutally murdered then have it repeat over and over again. those where just the dream from the last couple of night and this has been going on for weeks,it is obviously connected to being away from family and friends, " only if i could have a pet that would make it so much better" , im in Alberta Canada for school and im from New Hampshire in the US, everything is so different and i just feel alone here, with no where to go.
im taking a one year certificate program here and its not for employment, im planing on starting my on business and i have been here sent the third of January, the school said that i mist too many day because of anxiety so i will have to go how , the only good thing is that the stuff the they will be is economic and legal things that i have already gone over extensively on my own accord.
I have defiantly bitten off more then I could chew, but i have learned almost every thing that i can here that i cant do it on my own and this will save money and i have learn a very valuable lesson, because i only started to get anxiety to the run up to coming here , so that mean that it is solely based on being away from home. I have nearly been killed an several occasions and i was find with in minutes.
one big this that i don't understand is that i have a strange feeling of calmness, like this is what is suppose to happen, its feels like when i meditate, which makes less cents because im a atheists
so what i wont to know is how do i tell me parents about this, they are divorced and i live with my mom, im 19 and my dad got a $7000 loan the plug what i could not get from finagling us federal student loans.
Well, you'll have to come clean with them since they're not expecting you back from college so soon. However, since you did learn a few things, their efforts aren't entirely in vain. You'll have to make sure they understand that when you explain. Are they aware of your crippling anxiety? If not, that's another facet of this experience to bring up with them. Based on what you wrote, you seem to be adjusting well to familiar surroundings, and there was some optimism in your post, so that's a great start.
You're also young, just starting out in life. There's plenty of time left to get back on the track you desire.
Hi grunt200 Hope it helps for me to tell you that I dropped out 3 times over the course of - a few years, and then after working for a few years I went back and finished my degree. Guess I needed to finish growing up and sort of stabilize in my mind how to deal with/put up with the classes and crowds, etc., as to not let my anxiety build up to a humungous un-manageable point.
