Listen, there must be other, less drastic 'solutions'. Have you looked into speech therapy or something to improve your skills or get them going again? It'll be worth the effort, trust me. I've been able to speak for most of my life and, like many Asperger's people, it isn't always easy. Quite often people don't have a clue what I'm on about and I have to explain it. But don't give up.
