For me, Thanks Giving is actually a very small thing. It's usuay just my mom, one of my sisters visiting, and me. Even so, things can get upsetting pretty quickly. Thanks Giving is the only time that I have to eat at the table with people. When this happens, my mom says things to my sister about me and motions things to her that they think I don't notice. My family for some reason thinks that I'm extremely naive. Anyway, I get through saying things to them, and there's a silence when my mom looks at my sister. I see them in my peripheral vision, and they giggle lightly. I also hear my mom say, "sometimes I just go with it." They're making fun of me and acting as if I'm crazy right in front of me, as if I can't notice. Does this happen to you?

If they're making fun of you, then I'd stop being around them. Let them know that if they're going to continue to treat them like crap then you'll be done being with them. Nobody deserves to be treated like that.

I am so sorry this is happening to you, sadly you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family.

I believe that honesty is the best policy, I know it is hard but you should speak up and say "I know what you two are doing, you may think I am stupid but I am not!" you should then tell them how it hurts your feelings. Even if they then get defensive and deny it at least it is out there and maybe it will hinder them from doing it more.

I wish you well.

I miss the Thanksgivings of my childhood. There was enough food that no one accused me of 'hogging' my favorite dishes, and enough people that no one missed me when I sneaked downstairs to hide in the basement with a big plate of green olives, dark turkey meat, dinner rolls, butter, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie and ate it all alone.

Ahh ... happy times! :D
