I lost my bed in the shelter last night , for some utterly trivial bruecratic(sp) reason , and I am fully homeless now , with A LOT to carry (I am at a non-profit's Internet Workshop , that-and-similar is how I do this) - and , last nite , while asleep outside , the more than 20 dollars in paper of paper money that was all the paper I had ~ apparently slipped out of my pocket while I was " lying a-bed " (cardboard under mat , tarp over me :( ) and got stolen ! :(
I really could use some help now :( .

I am really sorry that happened to you, you sound like you have it pretty damn rough man. I don't know how I can help you though, and I haven't the sligthest idea about any resources in your area. I would take you in if you lived near me but we are 1000+ miles away.

I guess the only solution would be for you to go back to the drop-in center--where they'll assign you to another shelter.

I'm sorry a bureaucratic SNAFU caused you to lose your bed. You mentioned something about some guy having a 90-day bed. How do you go about doing that?

...I am down to one set of clothes ~ the ones which I am wearing ~ now again , as the pants I was wearing when I left ripped , I tossed them , put on the pants I had had in a bag in the shelter waiting to wash them though maybe they're not the cleanest . I had put all the clean T-shirts I had on me , it is cold at night :( .
It is the weekend now , I'm not good at approaching agencies , having a third party helps - this is why I've asked , or at least part of why , I've asked for help in making contact/appointements :( .
I don't think I was assigned to this last one from a drop-in center , KK . I did call the HOT people's offices twice on Fridays , during office hours , I got recording both times , I don't have a phone , remember , and I don't know (if in fact they even have one) how to cyber-reach them , send an E-mail to them .

I have never called an agency like that but I can make phone calls on your behalf if you want me to if you tell me what it is that you would like me to ask them and when you would like me to call for you. Pm if you would like me to help you, and can give me any more details such as the name and location of whatever shelter you want me to find contact info of.

But you are from canada right..?
Does the borders prevent people from the USA from staying for longer periods of time in canada?

...Noca ~ That would be nice , however , it would likely be very awkward for you to call from Canada , and I do not have a cell phone to receive calls at .
Sun ~ Actually , I am afraid that at present , I could not get past Customs/the border of Canada at all , even for a short visit , let alone a longer one ~ I think the fact that I'm still on (nonsupervised) probation in Santa Cruz County (for stuff I've at least briefly mentioned before) in itself would make me a NG :( .

...The fact that I am able to do this library limited computer time perhaps makes people not realize how bad my situation is ~ With me down to just one set of clothes , I had a recurrence of my diareea this day , making me be in three sets of underpants within a few hours :( ~ And , without a cell phone , I'm so cut off ~ It's not totally money , it's also that , once I have a smart phone , I can never seem to get it working fully~ ~ I need someone-sitting-beside-me help for that !

I don't mind calling from Canada, I've helped other friends out in the US before. I got unlimited calls to the US with my landline anyhow. I can always call around shelters for you and reply to you with email if you like, I really don't mind. I just sit home all day anyhow.

I'm wondering if another trip to the emergency room might accelerate the shelter process.

...Literally , in response to something Noca said in his original post , I was pointing out what , according to what I have been told , my probable situation :( would be if I tried to travel to Canada (or Australia , too~ :( ) when I reached the border/Customs , would be :( . At least for now?? :)

...While I'll get my little weekly money tomorrow I'll really have to get a new 7/-ish pairs pack of underwear AGAIN tomorrow :( , as I really do go through it and ~ Either when fully HL or in a shelter , I really can't keep a lot of soiled underwear around ~ I have thought that , if I had a place PERHAPS I could conserve by having a washable cloth bag for soiled underwear and hang it up somewhere and , when it's time for washing , wash them all ~ But , even in a shelter , keeping yuccy underpants around :( ? I think not . It gets expensive to be poor . . I'll need , atthe minimum , 2nd-hand pants , too , as , remember , I broke my other ones ~ I was always clumsy , now , I am even clumsier with non-rehabbed post-amputation feet :( .

...Last night I almost had my smaller , shoulder-strapped , bag stolen from me ~ Or rather , it WAS stolen from me , though I got it back (minus the shoulder-strap and I haven't absolutely checked every part of it to see if anything else is gone ) ~ at a Carl's Jr. place , I had left my backpack & the bag at my booth to go order and then , when I went back , the bag was gone ~ I did bring it up , the guard there did say he'd look at the place's TV monitor , and , then , someone there did ~ appear ~ with it , he said to the staff " Could I get a free hamburger for this ? " they said " We could (but thay didn't??) 86 you for this " , that Carl's seems sorta thuggish to me , but I did , finally that day , have enough money and there wasn't musch of anywhere else to go & sit down & I wanted some hot (in tempurature , not spice) mushy food to warm my body (refried beans , a burrito ~ I have only 2 teeth - - I did sign up a bit back w/a medical company that claims they could get me dentures but I have no phone & I haven't called them and my USPS address is uncertain and I lose the mail they send me :( ) , I'd eaten not much that day up unto then ~ I didn't go to the bathroom there afterward , asking the guard to let me in and having to take my baggage into the loo with me seemed odd to me , I tried to go to a outdoor loo outside on Market Street but it said " Occupied " so I peed in the gutter of the street , washing my hands with the water in the bottles I carry for that & soap afterward .
