I'm sure most of us can relate. Sometimes my emotions are obvious to me - if I'm crying or smiling it's easy to identify what I'm feeling. A lot of the time, I sense an emotional state on a physical level, but don't know what it is or why I'm having it. These generally fall under the blanket of "anxiety," as I'm usually kind of agitated and shaky, or otherwise ill at ease. These feelings can come and go at the strangest of times, so it's hard to appreciate what they mean.
It's also easy for other people to manipulate me, and make me question my emotions. I can't count the number of times I've felt strongly about something, and had a girlfriend/wife convince me I was wrong.
Unfortunately, interpersonal relations rely on timely displays of emotion, so if I don't feel anything until 7 hours later, it doesn't help, and no one cares that you
eventually felt the right emotion. It also makes people think you're emotionless, and just pretending when you are emotional.
At the end of the day, I feel like I'm a good person, and that's all I base my self-worth on.
