Taking a break from WP

I've been thinking about the question of fitting in here a lot lately. It wasn't until I spent a few days away from WP that I realised that I simply don't fit in anywhere here. I feel like a square peg in a round hole, and it hurts. I'm taking a break from here for a while, as there's no point my being here while I feel like this. Perhaps I'm just a bit depressed at the moment, but it feels like the right thing to do.
This isn't a 'talk me out of it' post, I've already decided, but I didn't want to just leave without saying anything. I'll probably be back in a couple of months when I've had a break. Maybe I'll feel a bit less weird.
I've met a lot of nice, supportive people here, and to everyone I've talked to, or had a laugh with, either in the forum or by PM, thanks, I have enjoyed your company and your friendship. At the moment, I think I just need to 'get over myself', lol. So I need a bit of time to myself.

I know you said you weren't posting to be talked out of leaving, but hey, what the heck, I'll try anyway (I never did know when to stop ).

All I want to say is that I think you do fit in well on WP. When I first started posting here, I dropped into a few threads & made a bit of an ass of myself. Then I nearly gave in because no-one was responding to my introductory post until you & witchy_jocelyn did. That actually meant a lot to a sad old case like me.

I value seeing your posts around the place so you'll be missed. Us old fogies have got to stick together or else these youngsters will run rings around us

Anyway, you have to do what you feel's best, so good luck with whatever you decide.

I hope you become relaxed and happy on your break. I'll be looking out for when you return.

Perhaps if they gave us older aspies our own forum where we can talk about things besides video games and trying to get dates. Then we would all have a place where we could all feel like we fit in.

I agree...a forum for older aspies would be great...I like hanging out with people older than I am...and I'd say they'd definitely like to hang out with each other...

I also think that a forum for older Aspies would be a good idea. I'm beyond video games and dating.

By all means if you can take a break do it. I'm in front of my computer at least every waking moment but say 2 hours a day. So its too much of a temptation to avoid WP.

I use to at least have my TV on (I have a TV card on my computer) but I do not even watch TV anymore. I've been programming more than ever but that is usually interrupted by WP So to all us that are trapped here feel free to break free. Though
also feel free to stop in now and again.

I would like to take a break from this forum too..I am curently trying to convince myself that I am not an Aspie...and if it werent specificly stated that ADDers were welcome too, then I would not belong here at all...but it's nice to belong somewhere..maybe I can find a nice active ADD site..maybe I can meet other ADDers who have incorrectly thought that they might be Aspies...alot of times though on those sites, all they seem to talk about is medication problems and whatnot...
