Warning: exceptionally whiny post.
So I've been fighting a nasty flu for the past 3 days. It's only today that I've even been able to get up. I told my mother and she says it's my fault for not getting the flu shot. I told my friend, but he isn't answering his email. It just scares me how alone I am.
Plus I got a note from the Hospital today setting up an appointment with the Cancer Centre. My doctor mentioned something about a sore on my face when I saw her last. She said something about plastic surgery, but I didn't really know what she was talking about.
I'm a little shocked at this, but it makes sense. My father, who died of cancer, use to get similar sores. I guess the doctor didn't want to startle me, but the appointment note sure did.
I can't believe your mother told you it's your fault you got the flu because you didn't get a flu shot!

The flu shot doesn't even protect against all flu strains. It's not as if it's a guarantee.
The flu is awful. I was very ill the last time I had it. I hope you get better soon.
Sometimes there are spots in the face that are pre-cancerous or look suspicious for skin cancer. Who knows what it is.
Get a colonoscopy. They aren't that bad. I had one because of family history, even though I'm much younger than most who get them. I was absolutely fine, and felt ok afterwards.
