Losing stuff: does it bother you so you can't do things?

I have a few comfort objects, not precious, but with strong emotional attachment or symbolism. A certain scarf,
a certain pencil case. If I think I've lost one, I can't put my mind anywhere else for a while--stuck between grief, anxiety, self-reproach. This morning I thought I had lost one of these but luckily by lunch I had found it left at work. --In fact these things are not the only ones I have, so I could use another scarf.
Does anyone else have this?

I think my only comfort item is my computer. It bugs me a lot when its either broke or internet is down. However I generally do find other stuff to do until I can use it again.

My comfort object(s) are mostly generic and easy to replace. However, if I don't have one, I feel likely feel the same anxiety that you do.
