Sunday was a hard day, almost a major meltdown

Sunday was a hard day, got within a gnat's hair of a major meltdown.
Maybe within a gnat's hair's split end of it.
First, the neuropathy, fibro, and CFS/ME had me hurting all over with no way to escape full body burning, aching, outright pain, except through meds which would have knocked me out.
Then the diner about 8 of us went to for lunch after church was on the very edge of noise and crowding causing sensory overload but I stayed because I wanted to participate.

And then what was with Doug?
And ... these people and I are all 50 and 60 year old adults ... what's with the fourth grader maturity level?????????
On the way out of Sunday School he put his hand around my head and roughed up my hair while he passed me as I was still sitting.
Then while at the diner he took my hat put it on different ways and posed different ways with it.
Those are boundaries you do not cross with someone who has autism and PTSD; he's effing lucky he's not in the hospital and I'm not in jail.
I've been attacked from behind a couple times in past decades, things which resemble that can flip a switch before you know it happened.

And after taking meds and zoning out most of the day here at almost 5 a.m. Monday, the distress and anger have finally gotten past everything else and I'm likely to get zero sleep tonight.

Think of it this way: you didn't have a major meltdown. That counts for something, in my opinion.

That's the thing about people: they show affection in funny ways sometimes.

The tussling of the hair, and the rearranging of the hat are manifestations of those "funny ways."

I had to get over my extreme distaste for being touched.

Wrote Pastor about Sunday, here's what she said.
"I'm sorry to hear of all that took place on Sunday for you. I will speak to Doug about what happened. I'm glad you were able to hold it together. I did appreciate your help with the bulletin stuff Sunday morning. Thank you also for helping to educate us all about Autism. You were called to First PC for a reason, and perhaps it's to teach us all as well as to continue to grow in the faith, all of us! Blessings for your week!"
