All my clothes thrown out...again.
My clothes and other things, including reading matter, are, apparently, again being thrown ouf by the shelter people, after my things got jt away after the last time I was hospitalized.
Same as before.
I don't have time to go i to the details of it now, but there it is again.
Also,y worker at HOT was, again, keeping a much-too short leash on me, and keeping me running around from place tp place getting nothing accomplished, like a hamster on a wheel. At the same time, ONCE AGAIN, I CAN'T GET ENOUGH SLEEP & REST!
I sometimesbjust want tongo to the hills with a tent andca Bi le and sleep there - but I wouldn't know what gear to get - or what tobdo with it once I got there.
Meanwhile, I'm again down to just the clothes I'm wearing. ![]()

My back aches, from so much walking arounnd with a heavy backpack, I have to leave the shelter for hours every day and strain myself
, but I'd also have nothing to do if I stayed there. If I could just rest

Welcome back, ASS-P.
You have bought a Bible, I hope you get to read it and can actually keep it for awhile.
It's terrible how everyone keeps throwing out your things.
And how you can't get enough sleep, it's obvious you are disabled and in need of housing,
and you should be provided with it.
The hard thing is, so many of us in these forums live so far away ...
all we can offer is to pray for you.
Having seen your other threads,
in all seriousness, I would say that
if you want to cry on someone's shoulder,
since you are the Bible-reading kind,
why don't you ask God to cry on his shoulder?
Am not being snarky or dismissive,
I sincerely mean it.
I had a really weird weekend last week,
with people acting like they were from out of the Twilight Zone
such that it is not a place I would want to stay at overnight again.
You know what though?
I could definitely sense God was there to support me
in the middle of the situation
and that really helped.

I understand that they probably don't have the room to store items for very long, and that many homeless individuals abandon their belongings due to mental illness, but I don't understand why they couldn't have held on to them on account of you being in the hospital.
Do you qualify for housing and are you on any housing lists?
What has been your experience with seeking help from churches? I know many of them at least theoretically want to help people in need, and offer certain programs (soup kitchens, etc.) - so I wonder if maybe trying to talk to a priest or minister might be helpful, in seeking advice for how to get into a better situation?
I seem to remember a few years back, someone had asked their local priest to contact Mission Dolores, and (as I recall it, I could be wrong) - the priest from Mission Dolores truly did want to meet with you, and seemed to be a very caring person, who wasn't going to 'drop the ball' on your problems. Maybe that's worth looking into again?

Perhaps you should get some kind of back pack or suitcase you can fit all your clothes and things into and take with you when you aren't at the shelter...that way it can't get thrown out when you're gone. Or maybe look for a better shelter or storage options that would actually keep your things more secure.
I mean this has happened, over and over and over and over and over again at this shelter...do you really think if you buy a bunch of new clothes and things you will get a different result than it being thrown out next time you have a leave of absence from the shelter? Obviously it is not a place that can be trusted to take care of your stuff.

Hey ASS-P. I'm glad you managed to obtain some more clothes and at least a couple of possessions that matter to you.
What the people at the shelter are doing is horrible. I hope you find a means of keeping hold of your stuff soon in case you have to leave again.

Yours sincerely, some dude.
...Thank you to all, I do have a backpack, rather too much of one in fact. As I've said before, I don't remember that regarding the priest.
I do have to have minimum clothes. I have been having physical problems recently, too
...

...BYW, please let me detail my physical problems. Yesterday (Sun.), I ended up h'ving shone on ngese chills in my body and this shaking - The shaking was bad enough that, in the early night, eating dinner, I would sometimes shake so much that the food on my spoon, after I scooped it up, would fall out of the spoon from my shaking and back into the tray before it could reach my mouth. I.was quite chilly still when I went to bed, even though I'd spent much of the day getting sunshine on me.
And, I have been wearing these Birkenstock clones (American Eagle) from Sat. on, breaking them on, sockless. Well, both of my feet )but especially the right - where the still a not healed wound from the amputation
- are discharging stuff, as is shown by stains on the AEs' surfaces
.
Go to the ER AGAIN? And, even if I'm admitted - have the stuff I leave behind get tossed out again? And, even if O do get to see some movies while in the hospital, be endlessly kept from sleep - and react, vrankily, to it - from nurses' tests? And on a July 4th, with presumably much more admissions?
