I use a high powered microwave to cook potatoes for about 7 minutes. I dont use it every single day but quite often. Suddenly the outlet in wich the microwave and a toaster oven is now not working. But the microwave and toaster oven still work. I used to cook potatoes in a smaller less high powered microwave and it stopped working.

The microwave I use now still works its just the outlet isnt working. Is it because of my potatoes? We live in an old house so it migt be electrical. But I worry that my potato making is doing it.

We have that issue all the time at work. Basically, you have to put a microwave on its own circuit as it draws much a large amount of power or at least not use it and another appliance at the same time. If it is an older house you might have blown a fuse but in any modern system (under 50 years old) you just need to switch on the circuit breaker on the main electrical panel. Since I don't know what type of panel you have that's all I can suggest.

Six minutes is probably better.

I live in a town an hour away from Halifax.

I really dont want the damaged outlet to be something I did. I want to keep making my potatos in the microwave. Maybe it happend because the toaster oven and microwave were on at the same time?

Yes. Run them separately. There is definitely a circuit breaker. There is probably an outlet with a GFI circuit breaker right on it. It will have two buttons, test and reset. Push reset, if it is sticking out. The test button should make the reset button stick out.

The boys living here said someone is coming to take a look at it. If there is a circut breaker for the microwave I dont know where it is. They moved the microwave to a different outlet. I should be doing my potatoes in the oven anyway I guess. Hope the outlet for the oven doesnt go.

Running a microwave shouldn't blow your outlet. Like others said it may blow fuse or breaker if too many items were on at same time. Or it could be an old outlet that just needs replaced. You making potatoes wouldn't have done it. That's what microwaves are for they can go for up to 1 hour on timer. Corn I think goes for 7 mins.
Personally I think stuff taste better baked but nothing wrong using microwave for speed

As the others posted, it probably tripped a circuit (newer wiring), or blew a fuse (older wiring). All buildings have a circuit breaker or fuse box somewhere on the premises, usually located in a basement. All it needs is to be reset, or to replace the fuse. If you are in an apartment and you don't know where it is, you should call the landlord. If you own your own house, then you need to locate it as sometimes outlets become overloaded and it trips the breaker. It's really easy to reset.
