There are ways to start over. It isn't easy, and it isn't fun, but you can do it. It involves social suicide(entirely seperate from regular suicide), and some methodology that is of...questionable legality. But if you're talking of more of a metaphorical start over, involving childhood and s**t of that nature, you got stuck with what you got stuck with, and now you get to move on. Sorry.

How long has it been since you were diagnosed? I was diagnosed last January, and I'm just now starting to feel good about myself. I found that it wasn't everything and everyone else I was so sick of, it was myself. I was completely sick of BEING me. I've been seeing a counselor with AS experience, and she's helped me a great deal. Just having a professional validate that yes, living with AS is difficult and frustrating, helped me start to accept myself and my limitations. Not long ago I saw a quote from Albert Einstein that said something like "when we accept our limitations, we go beyond them." That meant a lot to me. I think once you can start accepting yourself, you'll find dealing with other people (and life in general) a good bit easier. Still frustrating at times, but much more tolerable. Hang in there - it is possible.

I know how you feel. Its so easy to just want to duck out of the world for a while. Make sure you have enough time to yourself to be alone. it helps. i sometimes feel like the whole world doesnt take me seriously. its ok. they dont, but you want so badly to be heard or understood. It does get really frustrating. dont give up, though. You will soon see that you are not alone.

I feel your pain. It's hard not having anyone understand you. But guess what, we are people who understand you. We feel your pain every single day. I truely understand. I'm sick of my life too. No one to relate too, still living with my parents, I'm afraid of entering the big world, etc. I'm mad at the world too. Even though I'm just reading text here, I know that these are from real people in which I can relate too. So don't worry, something must come along for you in your life sooner or later.

It's a little scary when you discover your not going to suddenly grow out of it, and people aren't really crazy - you're the one that's odd.

But you know what? Variety adds spice to life. Hang in there. Try to not worry about it, and take things one day at a time. Try and find some people who understand you on some levels, even if they can't get you on all of them. Remember, as long as you're alive, you can always have a second chance.

I felt the same way and I know so many of the things that stem from it: your upbringing, or OCD, and isolation etc..

When I was a teenager, things were different. I thought that the whole world was passing me by. This kind of thing is a real state of mind, though. You think that you can prove this perception to be valid. Some things like that of the mind are all realities - realities that make you so little to the world. But I don't know everything - you do! I want you to be confident.

And so...

For one, I could see my peers being around their peers constantly and have this typical over-abundance of energy to always be around their peers and do things etc.. (In school)

But your mind is changing everyday. Thats a valid reality.

Self-help has helped me a lot in my life - I sorted through my emotions slowly: even the very intense ones. Maybe some of you have so severe autistic traits that you think that you have a depressive disorder but I could see my problems very clearly and my problems were so saturated with meaning and purpose. Now I have a much better of an idea of things like when people die or when they are drug addicts.

I don't feel abnormal for the way I felt either, because I see that there were contributions and I did feel confused and I did feel like people were there to just fight with me etc...
