I sometimes find it frustrating because a society chooses a certain time or age in a person's life when they can or can't do something and that it may sometimes leave the people who still probably wan't children but I taken them a while to mature and to find the ''right'' person to settle down with or even those who don't want children that its ''hopeless'' now or that ''you should have done by now or done it a long time ago''. It makes it seem like it is a person's ''fault'' because they still haven't got to it yet because for some circumstances they were still struggling during a time of life when they were expected to get married and start a family by that stage.
Unlike my grandparents who got married and had my mum and dad between the ages of 20 and 24 and my mum and dad had me and my sister between the ages of 26 and 31, Between the time I was at college and at university and not working in any paid job except volunteering, I was still unmarried and had not had kids, I was going out for a time with a couple of people as friends and then afterwards had stopped speaking to me and lost contact with them.
I didn't start the paid job I have now until I was 26 and since then and now, I still haven't been with anybody, or got married or started having children but my sister did at 26.
I do sometimes miss one of the people I was friends with, with whom I had fallen out with, I have sent her birthday and christmas cards to her but I never got a reply and didn't always see her around in the area in live in, she used to work for Savers but I think she now works for another store across the river from me. I think I remember giving her a sorry card to her once when I saw her after a long time and I felt quite socially awkward and I think she was too. I don't know if I have just been unlucky or that maybe its taken me a while to understand myself and that its taken me a bit longer to understand and adapt to some social norms and ques that other people perhaps already have than someone who is autistic. I seem more social now than I was at 18, although I don't really go out to a bar or something on a saturday night and have only gone out to a pub or restaurant with family. I am even very social at work with staff and customers and I am even willing to go out with colleagues on 25th November for a dinner at restaurant but so far since being in work it still hasn't got me finding someone yet.
