Well, this wasn't going to be a cheery day from the start. This afternoon we're having the visitation service for my father, who died last week.

So, I had made an appointment to get my hair done, which is such an ordeal for me, because I hate dealing with my hair and having strangers touch me. I wanted to get it done today so it'd be styled and I wouldn't have to worry about doing that myself before the visitation. But Becky, my regular hairstylist, teh only one I'm confortable with, doesn't work on Wednesday. So I made a HUGE concession to allow someone I didn't know do my hair. I made an appointment with Evan, which I thought would be OK, sincee I'm more comfortable with strange men than strange woman.

Then I when I got there they told me my appointment was with Claudia. OK, so that freaked me out, but I didn't make a fuss over, thinking it was gjust some schedule conflict they had to adjust. Then I waited, and waited, and waited, all the while listening the worst mix of "lite rock" over the PA (crap like Rod Stewart, Lisa Loeb and some dweeb that sounded like a bad Damian Rice impersonator). And while I was waiting (over a half hour past my scheduled appointment), another customer walks in without an appointment, and they immediately send her back to Evan, who apparently had been free all the time I had been waiting for Claudia. So by that time I was so irritated, I just rescheduled with my regular hairsylist for another day and left.

So now I didn't get my hair done, and it looks awful. My mom's insisting on taking pictures of the visitation, and not only do I not get that (why does she want pictures of my dad's corpse and the family looking miserible?), I hate getting my pisture taken, especially when I'm feeling overl self-conscious about my appearance. And god, I'm going to feeling awkward enough as is at the visitation - I'm only doing this because my mom wanted it and it's my dad. I've never even been to one of these, so I haven't an effing clue what to expect.

At least the visitation will only be two hours. I think I can survive that. I think. It's till 4 hours away. Heh. My mom and brother are already majorly pissing me off - they're all irritable and snapping at each other over little things, and it's just making me more and more tense. I'm so wound up I haven't been able to eat anything except half an Odwalla fruit smoothie.

I can't wait for this crappy day to be over with.

I hope the day finished better than what is sounded like when you posted.

If not, I hope today was better.

Sorry about your Dad.

I've been to several over the years and I do not like any of them.

I just have to say that it sounds like your day could be turning out a lot better than it has so far.
I hope today is ok for you and you get through everything ok.

Visitations are not very nice, I have been to one and probably never again in my life will I attend one.
Don't worry about your hair, I'm sure know one will bother you about it and I'm sure it looks fine.
