I want to get a windup radio, dig a concealed bunker and tunnel on some land in the country, and fill it with survival supplies for all the common types of disasters, just in case. I'm really scared and don't want to die, and don't want the planet to die. I'm plant fruit trees in there with grow lights, so that we'd have oxygen and food.


We need equipment for:

Floods
Fires
Biological hazards
Chemical hazards
Wars
Ice ages/ice storms/snow ages/snowstorms
Explosions
Tornados
Hurricanes
Earthquakes
Other disasters

I think it would actually be kind of neat to live in some sort of concealed bunker, because I love small spaces and everything I need would be in one room with me. But seriously, even though disasters do look neat from a distance(I agree), I really dont think anything will happen, especially in Canada lol. Maybe a blizzard but thats it.

Sounds good, but you need renewable power too. Have you ever read the Survivalist books?

ANYTHING could happen. Did you ever watch The Day After Tomorrow? That's supposed to really happen sooner than we think!


We can make a hydroelectric generator... we'll need a lake underground and an INNER resevoir with water filtration equipment... we would pump the water in from outside, a lake, and collect more water in containers outside when it rained, and then bring that in too.

Yes I saw it, and it may happen but I doubt in this lifetime. But its cool to imagine that it would anyway.
If the icecaps melt, we are all screwed. Even if we do build one of these things, because we would be under water lol. Plus its a really slow process anyway.

The sole focus now should be how the group will make money.

You're right. If a Tsunami wave comes, that's it.

You can buy islands from Canada for reasonable prices, on either coast.
If there's coastline I could help set up a tidal generator to take care of electricity.

Ya, i mean their is not a ton of land out their that has not been claimed by some government. Since its doubtfull you will be able to be sovern, you will need a way to live with the rest of civilized society, which means in order to get what you need, you have to have money.

You can do plenty like build your own homes, grow your own food and all, but you will want electricity, you may want a vehicle (gas), heat is good unless you wanna have a fire going.

Just some basic things to think about. It sounds like some of you really want this to happen, but I think you gotta be more realistic, and really see what you have and what you can do.

That plan seems rather alarmist. Plus, it only focuses on the short-term.
