Now i feel a very high craving for alcohol and generally i drink cheap alcohol cisco, steel reserve, king cobra, old english, budweiser. Do you guys ever feel a withdrawl problem i just want alcohol so bad it feels like i have not drank in months although im trying to quit it numbs the pain for me. Do any of you ever feel this way when you have not drank for awhile that you need to have it. or drink when your depressed?

Depressed? Yeah you could say I got depressed. Try months of it at a time. I drank hard and for a long time. It gets to the point, for some of us and not just aspies, where any excuse or none at all is reason to drink. I was self medicating and didn't know it. But yeah, it's a hard habit to break and some never do. But it can be done and I'm here to tell you it can. It will kill you in the end and that's exactly what I was doing. I wasn't even kidding myself after a while that that was what I was doing. There are better ways then the drink to help with some of the things that can come along with the AS.

Now having said that. There are good folks that can do it, drink and it isn't a problem. And I do think a drink now and again can be a good thing to do, when you need to unwind a bit. I just know I can't do it is all. It's pretty poison to me and I think I'd like to stick around for a while now. It's not so bad once I found better ways to take the edge off some of the things that come along for the ride with the AS.

The booze is almost a damn duality. Fits my bipolar perfectly. You can drink when you're depressed, just to feel better and you can drink when you feel good, just to celebrate feeling good. It doesn't give a s**t how you feel and it will still kill you in the end. I talk like it has a life don't I. I do now and it doesn't. Kill it and not you.

Let me know if you want some really brutal storys. They are graphic not pretty and the truth. Lets try on one just for yucks. I was throwing up stuff that was my insides, blood and all towards the end. I'd get done and go right back for more. I have no idea how I lived through it.

Do yourself a favor and pay attention to what you're seeing about it now and not later. You're pretty sharp to have come here with your question as soon as you did. Good luck, I'm pullin for you. 8)

Alcohol is the last thing you need when depressed, just prolonging the problem(s) you have, and cheap alcohol also just makes you sick, if your drinking the cheap stuff then its not for enjoyment, I know I have been there.

Did you know that alcohol itself is an extremely potent depressant and if you don't want to feel more depressed, then do not drink alcohol. I do know its not that simply, but if your reaching out you must want help...

The depression and crying sessions will get easier, the less you drink - if your need help with stopping contact a professional in your area, do not think about it, do it.

One of the best things I ever done in my life was to stop drinking, never thought I would or could, but now do not even want to drink. You can nit do it over night, it does take a while, get addicted to something else like on line communities if you have to, they will not harm you and may help.

But in the long run you need to really want to stop and your need to deal with the problems that are making you feel so low, share them if that helps.
