I woke up a few days ago,and my eyesight was so blurry I could hardly make anything out. I called to my Mom and we went right to the nearest hospital.

The doctor said the disease was finally kicking in,and that I had already lost 30%-40% of my eyesight. He said that I could not drive anymore, and that I will most likely be completely blind by the end of this year.

We are already looking into white cane and mobility lessons for me.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers(if you pray). And I was also wondering if WP had those things where if you log onto a website that it reads it to you.

Sorry to hear about this!
I think the computers for visually impaired people just read all the text aloud though, regardless of the site?

Oh my! And you're being so brave.

At the forum I used to go to, we did have a blind member who used that service. She was quite active in the forums so I guess she really got the hang of it.

I'm sorry to hear this news, SpaceCase.

I'm very sorry, SpaceCase. I knew someone who had cataracts AND AS and it was slow and steady.

What are you, 17? This must be pretty bad, on top of AS and depression. I guess there's no surgery or drugs anyone knows of? Don't despair though; you can get on a transplant list... maybe put posters up begging people do donate their braindead relatives' eyes... I wish more people would donate their eyes; so many good eyes are buried or cremated every day!!

Will be thinking of you SpaceCase and hoping for better news. :(

There are some software programs that will translate websites verbally...screenreaders...some are even free to use I believe. I can research into it more if you would want.
