Dreading tomorrow.
Hi,
I have posted here before, but I can't remember my username, so I made a new account.
On Thursday, I was at college, and something unpredictable happened. One of my classmates entered the room, made eye contact with another member of the group, and attacked him. The victim had his head slammed against the table, and the attacker seized a rolling pin with the intent of hitting him with it. My tutor tried to deflect the attacker, eventually forcing him out of the room, where he flailed at the door like a caged animal, trying to get back to his victim.
The attack was completely unprovoked, and it is believed that the attacker was influenced by drugs. He is suspended from college, pending further investigation.
When it happened, I began crying and, as it was a Ceramics lesson, I had a small blade near me, which I turned in my hands for about fifteen minutes without being aware of anything around me. Eventually, someone asked if I was alright. I said "I want to go home, I don't feel safe here", and two girls whom I vaguely know took me to the toilets, where I phoned my mum and asked if she could pick me up. She couldn't get to the college for two hours, so I had to return to the room, which is the last place I wanted to be.
The attacker is someone I have spoken to before. He used to be quite friendly, or I thought so. I once helped him to find a mobile phone he'd lost. Now I am scared that any one of the people in that room could attack me next.
I tried to go to town on Saturday to get some photographs printed, but I ended up retreating to the (practically empty) library, as the swarms of loud people were terrifying me a lot more than usual.
I'm not sure how I will deal with being in fear tomorrow, and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions regarding how to deal with it.

See what those "autistic people" can do! I hope you now understand what happens when we employ them, allow them to enter public facilities or associate with them. You learned your lesson, right?
I will now proceed to remove my "ignorant NT" hat!

Yeah honey, I'm still a guy
Are you sure that the attacker and victim hadn't had some sort of prior disagreement?
Find out (discreetly) - don't ask the victim, ask one of the girls.
If there was a prior disagreement, then you're quite safe.
If there wasn't - and it was totally unprovoked, (and if the attacker is going to be allowed to come back), then I'd suggest that you're right to not feel safe and that you might want to find somewhere else to go.
