Afraid of cars, PLZ help

I was hit by a car 3 weeks ago. I need to cross roads for my paper route and cars scare the s*** out of me. Anyone know how to help?

Lights. Lots of them, blinking. Even during the day, they catch drivers attention and get them to notice you, so you're less likely to get hit.

And I know what you mean. In two months working at Target, I got hit by cars three times. One of the women who hit me even had the balls to yell at ME, like somehow she was completely innocent at that. I left a nice dent with my steel toes though, and she had a brand new cadillac, so I know she was freaking livid when I rode off. I never got hurt past bruises though...

Also, try to cross at streetlights, cause people are usually to scared to run reds. And ride the far side of the cross walk cause I know a lot of drivers pull halfway into the thing.

Cars don't usually come off the road to get you.

Do you think that when you got hit by the car, you were doing something "wrong", ie: taking a risk, not looking before crossing etc?

If so, then all you need to do is remember to play it safe.

If you were hit through other circumstances, get a bit of counselling.

I was riding across a road with always heavy traffic. I had to cross. I crossed like I do everyday. I think it was my veiw was blocked by another car and I was pissed because I had been waiting 10 minutes. Whatever the case a car on the horizon scares me now.

go to a psychologist, you might have been traumatized.

Well, my advice is just keep at it, and take extra care. I wouldn't think you need a doctor, you KNOW why you are afraid of them and as far as I am concerned you have a right to be. Getting hit by cars HURTS. After a while of not getting hit it should be easier, just do your best to not let it rule your life.
