I just can't take it any more. My brother has been sooo disrespectful to me, and he just got home. I got home thinking "wow, maybe he'll be nice to me for a change." NOPE! HE started laying into me by saying shut up, among other things, and as quite snippy to me. I hate him so much. I wish he would just leave me alone. I obviously don't belong at home, because no one does anything to resolve these problems, instead allowing my brother to get away with this stuff whilst turning a blind eye to the situation.

I just can't take it any more. I don't want to live at home, but I clearly don't have a job, so I can't support myself alone. I have one more year of college left, something I honestly don't want to be doing either.

It seems that everywhere I go is a stressor. I want the agony to end. Someone please help me. What do I do?

That sounds very much like my life and I know, it is not enjoyable. I have an older brother who is worse then just about any other brother ever, seriously. I can't stand him and never want to see him again. My mom wants to kick him out of the house which I can't wait till that day finally comes. I really wish I knew what to do because my life in miserable and I am sick and tired of living this way. I still have three more years of college to go so I will not be ready to move away for a while.

I will be watching this post for possible help for myself and I hope that someone can help. God bless and I will be praying for you.

Thank you. Although I don't think my situation is as bad as yours (per se), as my brother can be really nice (when he wants to be) and can be downright rude and inconsiderate to me (which happens nearly all the time) I sympathize with you as well. Just the fact that someone is praying for me brightens my day. I will be thinking of you, too :)

Can you make the library your respite? I'm trying to do this. Once I get in there and find a good position at the end in the corner away from everyone, I quite enjoy the peace and relax. Any other ideas? My Dr. said he'd buy a van and put a desk in there  Hmm, I might think about that.

i've been in a similar situation with a sibling. my older sister, who's 8 years older, was still living at home. i was going to a boarding school for high school so when i came back the summer after grad and started living at home i saw a lot more of my sister. we were constantly fighting and my family was afraid it would get so bad we'd never talk again. she eventually moved out and we've been great since then.

now i'm in a situation where i hate my job, i hate my home, and my parents annoy me. my parents are helping with school, and they cover either a car or housing. the psychologist suggested i stay at home for another year but i convinced them to let me move out. i need their permission because i can't finance it myself so i need them to cover it. i think my relationship with them will get better once i move out.
