my betta fish died last night... i felt as though i had lost a close friend, he wasn't like other bettas, he was gentle, and brave, he never felt threatened by my presence near his tank, he never tried to attack my fingers when i fed him...

i truly wish him peace in the afterlife...

I'm sorry. I've kept Betta's several times, they make good pets.

If I'm not mistaken fish can only remember things up to 6 sec.

Hope you understand what I'm getting at

i know they have short memories, i watch animal planet all the time... but the difference with any pet, is you know they can't stab you in the back, unlike ppl..

Yes. Over a the course of a week or so they trained fish to navigate an obstacle course. How would they do so consistently if they did not remember? Fish do remember.

My sister had 2 bettas and a rather big fish. The bettas would somehow ninja into the adjacent big fish tank and bite him.

The day we separated the tanks you could still see the bettas glued to the glass wall facing the bigger fish. You could almost imagine them doing the slit throat motion (lol). I love those fish.

Sorry for your loss Kasuki. Next Betta you have do try and feed them the color enchancing products.. they look gorgeous with it AND use a low intensity blacklight... they look awesome in it

hey all, just an update, got a new betta, usually the females aren't very pretty, but this one caught my eye, she is bluish-purple with small whitish-silver stripes... her eyes are multi-colored too ^^
this one i haven't named yet, but i'll lert u know what i decide.

Sorry about your fish. I had a few betas and they would fight to the death. It was not cool.
