Bad Experience riding the school bus to and from school?
I spent 2 years trying to avoid this kid who was a year older than me.
He used to tease me, hold me down by my wrists, sit on me and try to kiss me. Back then the bus drivers didn't care what went on, as long as they didn't have to work overtime and clean up a mess. I think he sprained my one wrist twice, stoved a finger or two a couple of times, and knocked the wind out of me on a regular basis for awhile. All this because he had a "crush" on me.
My dad found another job and I moved away...it's been about 30 years, I wonder sometimes what happened to him...how he turned out, if he married...I just hope if he "did" marry that his wife took a course in self-defense.
I was teased by other kids, but he was the most "memorable" you could say.

The Yr 7s pull my hair because they think it's funny when I get mad. Only I can't get upset about it cos they're younger than me, and I can't retaliate because they're younger than me.

You say you can't retaliate because they're younger. Is this some written rule that they have? Here, if 2 students get into a fight both are suspended even the one defending themselves. I bet when you've tried to tell the bus driver or any of the administration there they did nothing, am I correct? Gina, two things. 1. I don't want you to hold a grudge 10 or 15 years from now when you've long graduated school. 2. They're going to keep on pulling your hair until you do something about it. I bet the administration will tell you to ignore them and walk away. Am I correct? This advice does not work.
There are two ways to handle this I think. 1. Keep an eye out for an oppurtunity and when you and one of those yr 7 are alone pull their hair back hard twice. Make sure no teacher, adminstration or other student sees you. When that students tells on you deny that you did anything. I don't think they can do anything without any evidence or witnesses that you did anything. 2. Get into a fight with them and claim self-defense. I am 99% certain the administration there will suspend you for fighting even if it is self-defense. Even if your mom is on the administrations side and you're suspended you will have your dignity and your pride.
The truth is is I've been running away for a long time and that's accomplished nothing for me. I tried to follow the schools rules to the exact letter and it got me nowhere but stress, grudges, and hatred for the students and faculty today. You may have to break some of their rules to preserve your physical and mental health and to defend yourself from harm. The truth is is their rules are designed by NTs and made for NTs.
The system is basically taking away your right to self-defense. Any government, institution or agency that takes away your basic right to self-defense, in the words of rod serling when he narrated the old twilight zone is obsolete. You have certain universal rights that superscede your school's BS rules. I wish I knew this when I went to school.
When do defend yourself though be prepared for any of the consequences for what you do though. If you cannot, then don't take any of my advice. If you think you can, mentally prepare to take the consequences.

In schools, there is an unwritten social rule that if someone is younger/smaller than you, fighting them is "cowardly" (according to boys) or "mean" (according to girls). This is yet another BS assumption, as size isn't everything.
I have never told on them because it would seem really stupid to be intimidated by Year 7s. And as you said, if I did the administration wouldn't do anything.
I like the self-defense idea a lot. It would certainly prove a point. And even if I get suspended, I wouldn't have to see the annoying people at school for a while.

I lost my 2 best friends in middle school for having a melt down on the bus. I think they got emberessed when I started crying and flailing my arms around .
The next day they acted like they didnt even know me.
oh well .
It was because they were trying to put 4 kids in every seat and the seats only fit 2 kids. I can't be tuched by people even to this day and it cause me to have a sensory overload.
Theres quite a few stories, mostly of my sister embarrassing me simply because shes a sadistic wench. If this makes you feel any better, once she put yellow food coloring on a pair of my underware, took it on the schoolbus and held them up above her head announcing that I wet my pants. Another time was when she hit me in the face with a metal baseball bat right in the mouth right when the bus was about to get to our stop, and I ended up having to go to the hospital for stitches on my lip instead of going to school. (Which was probably better for me anyway). Also after coming back from the school bus when we were in the garage about to go inside the house when she started throwing baseballs at me as hard as she could, trying to hurt me on purpose. Lol those things in particular don't bother me anymore, the ones that do are the times when I was trying to catch up to the bus, running beside it for a long time until it eventually sped away and I had to get my grandparents to drive me to school. All other times were just me having a really hard time trying to talk to the kids at the bus stop and on the bus. I don't exactly remember everything from that though. My school years were all just kind of a blur, the same every day, sh***y.
These days I'm much better off not having to deal with all that anymore. I'm so glad I'm out of school! =]

Gina, what year are you? How old are the year 7s? I figured the administration would not do anything. The same thing occurs here.
Here is a wiki on self defense. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-defense_(theory) This actually goes back to roman law and I think one of your interests was something to do with the romans especially roman mythology.
These year 7s should not be messing with you and pull your hair like they do.
If you do what I suggest make sure you state your defense to the administration in a logical manner. In fact, I would do research from the ancient romans, to the magna carta, to the U.S. constitution. You have the right to defend yourself from harm and you have to right to defend your property from being defaced and being stolen.
I wasn't even able to take the bus until I was 14. I was ridiculed for that.
So when I started taking the bus a little and then later only ever took the bus anymore, people didn't bully me on the bus, not even tease me.
Got me some respect to take the bus.
