That's kind of odd for an aspie of your age. Most of us would just look like crap & not have the social sense to care.

Guess the way to beat your problem is to realize that no matter how great you look or are, you'll never gain everyone's approval. NTs tend to be fickle, illogical, & emotionally driven, & even with your advanced analytical mind, you can't possibly predict or control what they think. Don't even try, as it will only lead to dissapointment. Focus on pleasing yourself, not other people, since you can only control yourself.

I don't think that's odd at all. Puberty (@ age 11-14) is the time when people get the most self-conscious. You can't make it stop, but it passes. I remember going through it.. later than my peers, but I did go through it.

So, I don't think you're unusual at all. Just hang in there and it will pass after a while.

Just remember that you're ok no matter what and tell yourself it doesn't matter what people think. Give up on "fitting in," because with AS, we are unable to.

14 is a tough age. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to those years. But, we tend to be our own worst critics. We invest so much energy in trying to perfect things that we deem are imperfect, but others wouldn't even notice. So try to remind yourself that what you're so worried about, others probably don't see. It's a big deal to you, but not them.

I'm the same way. I get self-conscious when I'm not wearing the right outfit. If anyone thinks of you in any way, just say it's because you chose to and not have it be related to their opinions.

all teens worry about fitting in NT or AS alike...

one should come to the conclusion that most people at your age care less on how "YOU" look, because they are so busy worrying about themselves.

You gotta love yourself first and then charisma comes shining of you like the lights on a Christmas tree.

I get a lot of people pissed because I am very opinionated, but I could not care less...
(what always get's to me though, if people judge me on my nationality, this really bugs me)

I sting out because I am 'different', I have hobbies and you can not fit me into a mould.
I love live and beauty,( mostly found in nature).

with age you get less worried about "looks", you care more about "smarts" and good "health"...
(something to look forward to, hah?! :O) )
be yourself, practice good hygiene and:

LOVE YOURSELF

the rest will take care of itself!

Get pride in your self instead of your image

facebook and the like don't really help either.
